NO MORE BONAIRE TALK As many users know, Bonaire Talk has been in a transition period over the last year as new moderators have taken over from Jake and Linda and have set up BT as a non-profit (Bonaire Talk Community Inc., aka, BTCI). The current moderators are also on the Board of Directors of BTCI. At present, BTCI has had a few fundraisers for various good causes on Bonaire, and 100% of these funds raised have all gone toward the project, with no funds going to BTCI. Also, BTCI has never asked our users for any money for BT. That Changes Today. BTCI (which in reality is Bonaire Talk) has bills. Tax filings, taxes to pay, corporation costs, in a short few months we will be paying for our web service, and bandwidth. We will probably need to obtain our own server as well, as we are obligated by our agreement to preserve all the Bonaire Talk archives. All of the expenses of keeping Bonaire Talk up and running. We have run for many years on the generosity and kindness of others, but it is time for BT to learn to stand on it's own. So, the fundraising begins to keep Bonaire Talk online, and alive. We are asking folks to Donate whatever they feel comfortable with. We are not yet set up for accepting credit cards, but we do have a Paypal account (paypal@bonairetalk.com). We can also accept personal checks or money orders made out to Cynde Lee and mailed to B.T.C.I. PO BOX 4061, Dana Point, CA 92629. ANY GOOD NEWS??? A donation of $10.00 or more will result in your name being listed on the Angels of BT thread if you want that. A donation of $30.00 or more will also get you an Official Bonaire Creations 2006 Calendar, featuring images by Jake and Linda Richter. I have one on my wall, and I use it every day. A donation of $50.00 or more will get you a Bonaire Talk T Shirt, printed front and back on a 100% Cotton Hanes Beefy -T. Any donation over $75.00 will get both the Official Bonaire Creations 2006 Calendar and Bonaire Talk T Shirt. Your tax deductible donations will support our community, which has helped many, many people around the world to connect with each other, and learn about our favorite island. We have applied for Tax Exept status, and expect to hear this Spring if our application is approved. This would make your contribution tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We know that this is a new thing for BT, however, unless we raise funds to pay the bills, BT might go away by years end.
