I need some condo rental advice. We were planning on staying at a condo of a "friend" of mine. We've got flight reservations, but now I found out that the condo has already been rented for the week of April 18-25. We can't change our flights now. I've stayed at the Sand Dollar twice and loved it, but the condo we budgetted for was only $500 for the week. I've got a tip on the Sun Ocean Front Apartments in town and it looks really nice. Does anyone have any suggestions? We'd like to stay someplace, near town, diving, etc. I know, I know, you can't go wrong ANYwhere on Bonaire!! Thanks!

Nancy, I'm on Bonaire now, staying at Bonaire Town Homes, which you might want to consider. The very friendly and accommodating owners let me use their computer to stay in touch, as I'm here for six weeks. You should consider staying here, check out the website at www.bonairetownhomes.com.

They have two rental units on their own property, next door to their own house, a one-bedroom unit and a two-bedroom unit. As I'm using the computer in their office, I just checked their availability, and the period you want is open here. The one bedroom rents for $60/night and the two-bedroom for $80/night. The units are just a couple of years old, very clean, comfortable and very fully furnished kitchen. Nice quiet area about a mile from the center of town and the ocean (I walk it in about 15 minutes). Very private with lovely outside area for sitting/eating, with hammocks.

This is my fifth stay here, and I love it. As well as the accommodations being very nice and also reasonable, the owners are delightful, and do everything in their power to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. When I'm here, I feel like I'm visiting old friends.

If you'd like further information, you can contact me by email: jestill@rochester.rr.com

Hi Nancy,

We stayed at the Sun Oceanfront last August, and would not hesitate to stay there again. We found the on-site dive shop a great convenience. The apartment is just across the street from the ocean, in town, which made shopping and dining easy.

Good luck on your quest. We're just beginning to plan a return trip, sometime this year.

Cheryl
