On Dec. 22 and 23 two ground floor villas in the Sea Side Apartments were robbed. One a day. Glass broken, laptops, cash, other valuables stollen.
FYI.

Both times they entered from behind the building and went through the bedrooms. The first was in the middle of the day. The next day, while people were having a dinner out, after dark. The lights were on in the leaving room and they skipped it.

Does anyone has more information about this?

Ms. Aegten, might I kindly suggest you contact Sue Yen at Bonaire Seaside where you apparently own a unit? This forum cannot provide information on crime, police reports on such urgent matters. Sue Yen will be the source for securing any information. Quite frankly I am confused why "Belda" a first time poster finds this forum the place to report this matter. What's the point, really?? Head shaking..we know there is crime on Bonaire as there is all over the Caribbean and the world.

IMHO I still think we need police reports so hit and run ops don't do this kind of stuff. Who is Belda and where did she get her info from? Hearsay? Was she a victim? who knows.

Rant off.

Who ever Belda is I don't have a clue. But, as I've said (and posted) many times about taking the veracity of strong negative reports from first time posters seriously. Just my personal observation.

Yes, the police and the property management were there. The police got a report. The property management offered an alternative accommodation to the victims of the broken glass. They also installed some protection on the windows.

I enjoy the no police report policy , as above , first timers can be taken with a grain of salt . You really have to be a loser to invent a crime and post it on a site such as ours .
If you were victimized and wanted to talk about your situation , you always get directed to bonaire talk , that's how I happened upon this awesome website. Friends were robbed back in the rampage a couple of years back . Thus when I searched the web for details of others I found Bonaire Talk .
The more people expose crime the smarter the new traveller will be , there will be more pressure to reduce crime by the lethargic PD .
Please don't start the Police Report stuff for every broken window and stolen cooler . thanks

I've had contact with Sue-Yen from Bonaire Seaside. The villa's behind the waterside were robbed. They've broken a window at the backside. This is not the first time that this happens. Before this they've broken in at the apartments on the third floor. People thinks that it's save on the third floor and they let their door open. I hope the police can catch the robbers.

I also hope the police can catch the robbers. It might be the same robbers operating on that block, who know well their way around there. There is a construction in the middle. A few weeks ago the students' dorms of CIEE - on the same block facing the main street - were robbed. The laptops gone, again.
