Does anyone know of a message board/chat area for the Caymans that is like Bonaire Talk? My husband and I want to go to the Caymans for diving, but haven't found a message board that is nearly as helpful as this one.

Nancy, you might want to try D2D (D2D Board). Make sure you search for reports and read them before you ask your questions (they're fiesty but informative). There are quite a few reports from the Caymans, very popular place. I've heard it's expensive.

Faith and I have been to the Caymans 3 times to dive, twice to Grand Cayman, and once to Cayman Brac. If I can answer any questions, I'd be happy to. The "expensive" reputation depends a lot on your choices.

Due to serious competition, airfare to the Caymans is often quite a bit more reasonable than to Bonaire. Accomodations and diving costs can be higher, but packages can bridge the gap.

Nancy, there is nothing else like Bonaire Talk at all.

Thanks so much for the help! And, yes, I agree that there is nothing like Bonaire Talk. We are looking for a dive resort on Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. Although, visiting the Bonaire Talk board has made me think that maybe we should just go back to Bonaire and forget this Cayman thing!

having been to Bonaire, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, in my opinion Bonaire has it hands down over the Caymans. I went to the Caymans last year and was very dissapointed with the condition of the reefs on Cayman Brac. They were in better shape on Little Cayman but the water there was murky. Not bad vis but sort of yellow like maybe there was a sewer leak or something in the area of bloody bay wall.
However my biggest objection to the caymans and a reason that I personally will not patronize them again until this practice is stopped is that they still allow the hunting of sea turtles. They have turtle traps all along the reef on Cayman Brac. So not only are they hunting them, but they are doing it in an inhumane manner.
