Hi ya, Eileen! We watched a couple movies last night and slept late this morning. It's a shame, too, since it's a beautiful New England day today. Sunshine and 60s expected.

I'm going to try to make it thru the day without the aid of pharmaceutical assistance. I'll play it by ear, though, because this cold still seems to be blocking and draining my sinuses at random times.

Have we heard from Jenni yet?

No Jenni yet! It is a beautiful day outside, chilly though! The birds are singing too. I am getting ready (not that I am in a hurry) to go to my parents place. I baked some goodies to take to them.

Hello, again. Back from church. At 2:00, there is a tea at the local senior citizen/nursing home.

The tea is to crown the new King and Queen Regent of the Pioneers of Alaska, an organization dedicated to the preservation of long-time Alaska residents.

Annette, I do believe that what you grew was skunk cabbage. It is aptly named. When I was growing up, we would take the stamin that grows in the center (looks sort of like a chewed-off corn cob), break it in half, and then throw it at each other. The sap that sprayed all over you when it hit was a bit odiferous. Our parents did not appreciate that.

Yet another gloriously sunny day in Juneau. Tomorrow the first cruise ship arrives. Let the madness begin.

Oh, and by the way, it may be Luke Skywalker Day, but it is also Dan Kassner day. Just hit 58. Just a kid.

Off to water plants and newly planted trees. Been dry here too long not to. Not something we usually concern ourselves with here, because its normally not that dry.
