Good morning Tom. Considering it is supposed to be the first day of spring, it is pretty dull and chilly here today. Annie B.

Happy Vernal Equinox everyone, get out there and balance those eggs. It also happens to be occurring right now. It is the moment when the Sun crosses the Earth's equator (extended out into space). Good mental exercise for three dimensional thinking, on the other hand, not.

Going Postal eh?

I see in the Bonaire Reporter that the privatized-outsourced postal service for the "AN" (note: don't write "NA" or your mail will go to Namibia!) is going to Canada Post International!

So if it is like here in Canada all your letters will go to Toronto or Montreal first. Storage is a strong point!! And remember when you call the international Toll Free number to have your French up to date!!

I wish I had some post-office experience I'd be applying to "consult".

Cheers,

Bill

rain Rain Rain Go Away - rained all night and it's just begun again. Loud enough to pound on the roof above my head here and drizzle thru the breezeway roof. Buckets Buckets Everywhere out there.

bucket We lost a lot of goldfish this winter in both ponds - that hasn't happened in the ten years we've been keeping them. We have floating heaters keeping an airhole open and they worked - just must have been TOO COLD. Last summer we lost three big koi when it was too HOT for too long. Poor fishies.

spring

It's Spring Day

It's the vernal equinox - the time of year that symbolizes the change to spring. With the sun positioned right over the equator, the day and night are about equal in length around the world. (Equinox means "equal night".) From now until September, there will be longer and warmer days in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring has sprung!

spring Our rain has turned to bright sunshine and the temps are rising. A few more days and most of the snow in the yard should be melted away!

You need some snow, Rusty. Still got plenty in the yard, less than a couple of weeks ago. But still plenty, maybe 2' in shadey areas.

I'm about ready for my bed now. Been working hard today, and then after work, quick trip to supermarket and then to my middle son's for dinner,
babyand lovely time with my new baby granddaughter - oh what lovely smiles and laughs and gurgles. Wonder how Maria is going on?

I'm running day 3 of a 5 day workshop tomorrow, so lots of planning and getting things organised. Kev's youngest daughter is about to set off around the world, aiming for Australia, kangrooand tomorrow night we are all going out for a Bon Voyage meal to a posh place I love in the centre of Manchester. Should be good fun!
