congratulations sally! wooohooo! mornin' rusty gal...were you able to get your back door open this morning to "let the dogs out?" now i will have that song in my head all morning! i went to mardi gras 1979 (the year the police were on strike) with 2 girlfriends...drove a primer gray ford van with wood bumpers all the way from san diego...talk about hippie days! lol! it was an "eye opening" experience for a very naive 21 year old is all i have to say...fat tuesday it will be happening today in new orleans!

wow freddie, great pics! the year that i went, the parade was in some colluseum due to the police strike. they almost cancelled the parade, but figured that the crowd would be easier to control in the enclosed dome! our seats were WAY up in the nose bleed section so we didn't have a very good view! off to the doc's then to the office, these pics are great, i hope someone else gets some more!

ok, just got the call from michael, it is officially official, michael get's sworn BACK into the Coast Guard (as a reservist) on Thursday, down in san diego...he leaves for Cape May New Jersey on Sunday for 2 weeks for the "reserve boot camp!" I just LOVE a man in uniform

Hey Cynde....Another coastie....We were up at Cape May last summer to attend our grand son's graduation from the Coast Guard Training....He's now serving at the Tampa Air Station...Says he likes it... Being retired military from the Navy and Army I really enjoyed touring that tiny, tiny training center...Very nice camp.

What are paczkis (pronounced Poonch-keys or punch-keys)? First of all the name is Polish for "little package". Paczkis are made from yeast, butter, flour, milk, salt, sugar and, according to the Detroit News, "enough egg yolks to shoot your cholesterol into orbit." They're filled with anything from custard to raspberry, strawberry, lemon or prune jelly (I've also seen Apple and grape). They're topped with powdered sugar or a dollop of whipped cream.

For you on Weight Watchers, EACH paczki contains 425 calories and 30 grams of fat (oh my!). According to the Detroit News, that's about 1/3 of the daily allotment of fat per person!

wow, what great pics (i think!) ub, michael was in the CG for 7 years, and went to the real cg "boot camp" at cape may...got in trouble and had to stay an extra 2 weeks cause he snuck in a candy bar!
