Ohhhh, ya'll are fun, and funny. :-)

I've had such a nice day. A la de da day.

Everything's perfect in my world right now. :-)

I forgot to mention I popped a cork at 5:30ish. And dinner's on. I chicken Larry to death, and veggie and salad him to death, um really a good LIFE. Sorry, but no bread tonight either. :-)

Just realized the FL Maxi meet is weekend after next. Gotta figure out what to take, and where to stay. Venice or Ft. Myers? Time to plan that final, before this weekend. :-)

G'night gang. I'm glad I missed Monday. :D I really didn't MISS it, just glad for another 4 day work week. :-)

Hey! I've been without power for an hour and 45 minutes. I tried to call John on the remote..... Duh. Made my way to the wall phone - said "This is an emergency. The power is out and my computer died. I don't know how to act without a computer!" Then he said - "So you don't have air conditioning either...." And I said "Oh sheeeeeite"

So it was time to make a drink and head out to the (84 degree) porch where there was enough light to read.... But Chaos was really upset by the boom and silence of the transformer blowing.... so I got into the pool with him. Stayed cool and got some exercise too.

Pegi Sue - Don't fret. The worst part is the prep. That is truely the PITA. Use Desitin. The test itself you won't remember! :-) Big hugs girl friend!

And my sis who is a medical tech told me than clear fluids include vodka!

Awww, Bette, my girls were water babies, too.

I read so much, saw so much about it, I tested it on Brooke. My mom had a pool with Brooke.

I looked her in the eyes before we went under, and she was OK and trusting, and she never shut her eyes, and swam. I was like, OMG, it's true.

Poor Heather, she never got an induction till then, and by that time she had developed fears. So Brooke was doing triple flips off the high dive at 5, and Heather hung to the edge of the regular pool, being envious of her sister, but that's the way the competition began, I guess. Heather has a degree in Arts and Language, and Brooke has a GED and is a CNA. Who makes the most $$? Brooke, but it's all a circle.

I grew up with my children in that way, but my summer babysitter as a child was swimming classes. I learned every stroke, every kick, and how to dive (though I did hit my head on the diving board one time and they called 911, or whatever it was at that time!)

I remember watching Brooke do her first triple off the high dive (she was the pet of the lifeguards), and I actually dove down to make sure she was OK. But she arced up in perfect form, and I never worried about her....or my grandchildren by her. They're water babies.

Heather and Erin are another story. :-)

It's OK, though.

But I love water babies. :-) I was one!

There was a little catch to the whole early swimming tho. He wasn't afraid of water....at all.....so also no respect. Every time he saw water he ran to it as fast as he little legs would carry him and often we could snap him away just in time before he would jump in.
Man, talking about gray hairs and adrenaline rushes.

Bette, I was born in Augusta, GA, then my dad was transferred to PR, so my first 4 years were as an island baby, and always in the sand and water, and islanders called me something that meant "blondie", which is what my PR and Cuban coworkers call me. I like it.

I hold true to that, my first memories of sand and surf, and water. It's formed who I am, because not many people raised in AL feel the island/water pull. I'm on classmates.com, and most of my old friends are still there in the same place, getting old, looking old, and haven't done a damn bit of exploring the planet.

I think if I wasn't born and raised a beach baby, I wouldn't be one today (though I'm an oldish one!)

I like the way my life turned out. So far.

Nite Brad. Bette that's the same problem with children who aren't afraid of dogs....

Okay, indulge me a little here. Freshen up your cocktails; I'm gonna share :-)
This is my friend Dana teaching her kids how to make handcuffs - aren't they all beautiful!
the famdamily
Guy and Griffin built outriggers --- Griffin is already quite the woodworker at 7 years old
in the workshop
meanwhile McKenna and I hung out in the exercise room --- she is the only one in her class who can ride an electric two-wheel scooter and bicycle without training wheels - she's very gifted physically and mentally and only 5 years old
in our workout room
The kids played darts, played badmitton, and played in the hottub
a full two days!
Sunday we had a quick trip to the park where there is a restored 1918 carrousel
McKena loved it and kissed and petted her horse
Kenna on horse
Griffin got a little bored
Griff on horse

It was such a GREAT weekend!

Hey, I'm being made to put a stick in my sliding glass doors! (I personally think it's useless, but WTH). I'll do it, even though it causes Cali Kitty great stress since I can't open the door right away.

Police.

Don't do you any good after it happens, but they don't seem able to protect you in any way, even if you're doing it all right, if you are the one it happens to.

I will follow every stupid rule, and live like someone's trying to break in my house at every minute and be Paranoid Patty, and will hate it. This is not what I wanted, ever. I'm learing, I have to live like that on vacations (just did), but I hate it. But I learned my lessons on trust. Didn't even tell you all about the scam we encountered!

Scam at Yahoo Junction, FL, which is just off the
FL Turnpike on the way to Orlando.

So, we're walking into a gas station, and there is a group of young, white, surfer type guys hanging around outside the door.

"Hey, Ma'am, we're stuck here trying to get home, could you spare some gas money?"

I actually worried about these boys as I was buying things and using their ladies' room. On the way out, they asked me again. THEN this guy drove up and got out of his car, and said loudly, "So....how's the GAS SCAM working?" And they all laughed.

I gave them a LOOK as we drove away, but I was ready to give them gas or $$.

Beware.

Great photos today! You guys need to stop by Bette's house and pet Tiki. Her fur is silky soft!

Boom...why were they learning to make handcuffs? LOL!!!

Ok...dive report? Invisibles first: free swimming green moray, a barracuda with a bar jack as a friend, 1 worm (no ID), and 2 flying flounders. Seriously, they were moving so fast they looked like frisbees. There was also a very large barracuda in the shallows barring the exit. Angel City: my first ocean triggerfish (2 of them) and a school of barracudas - that was very odd to see for me. Bachelor's Beach - not much but did find a yellow headed jaw fish near the mooring block. Andrea II: 2 turtles, one was a green, couldn't get close enough to ID the other one, 2 very large rainbow parrots, 1 octopus, 1 cubera snapper, and I found the memorial in 26' of water.

Ok...now for dinner. Bette...can I come over for some coffee - NOW???? LOL!

I think Guy was the instigator for handcuff design.

One last picture... I promise :-)

it's wonderful to be loved
