I hear that Bas wraps snapper in tinfoil and wires it to his carburator and drives up and down the island til it's done. Yum!

Hi Sarah! How long was your flight out and back? Must be tiring straight thru like that. Glad you're home safe and sound.

Few more famous people having birthdays today!

birthday

Happy Birthday to my hero, David Attenborough. We got a chance to meet him about ten years ago at a reception held in his honor. I think he's done so much to advance our understanding of the basics of biology and evolution. Hurrah!

TODAY'S BIRTHDAYS:
1884 - Harry S Truman, 33rd US President (1945-1953)
1926 - David Attenborough, naturalist (Life On Earth}
1940 - Ricky Nelson, rock star (Garden Party)
1964 - Melissa Gilbert, actress (Little House on the Prairie)

Hehehe Rusty,.. who told ya that!?;-) Carbi cooked snapper.. works great, twin carbies cook for 2, baked potato's on the manifolds, salad tosses itself, some roads toss better then others lol.. sorry, no a/c to chill the wine ;-( Tourist road to Rincon via Goto cooks best..just the hottest Mini road around with all the tight turns!! Quite a 'trip' actually Hah!, .. imagine yourself, at night, on that road, in that small thing that corners like it's on rails, strapped in a bucketseat with 4 point harness, groovey underground house tunes from 300W of speakers....
Nice thing about this road is that it's mostly 2nd gear.. so not reckless high speed. Besides always try to keep a lil margin for the unexpected behind the next turn. But for someone that doesn't know he road very well it's quite a ride. Any riders?? hehehe
Off to cook dinner.. 1/8" cut veal rib eye with cauliflower and yucca.

Rusty, our flight took 13 hours there, as we had to change in Dulles and our connecting flight to Richmond was delayed.. coming back wasn't too bad, 7 hours back to LHR from Dulles (no delays).. we flew with United both ways..:)

Hi Bas..:)

Sarah...glad to have ya back...hope your trip was great!

Bas,,,are those your tire marks on the road to Lac bay???? Stopping short to turn dinner over???

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Bas on Thursday, May 9, 2002 - 1:26 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Nahhh hardly ever leave any tire marks.. they wont make you stop or accelerate any faster.
They're from the locals drag racing there late sunday afternoons. I'll watch but will never race them allthough they are always asking lol
A timed event from oil slick to karpata or from Kontiki to niki boko.. that would be interesting ;-))

Thanks Meryl, and "Hi".. I'm only back for a bit, my exams are very close and I'm burning the midnight oil..! I think there's a bunch of you guys leaving for Bon soon, so if I'm not back here, I'll see you all the cams (no doubt).. :)

Jenni, if you read this post, I'm looking forward to your Trip Report..

Hi Sarah, Glad you're back too.
My trip report is in the making - ie I'm thinking it through. Also think I need time to get it all together. I made some notes, and then had a big chunk where I didn;t.
