Tarzana...does Cynde live in Tarzana?? That is like 10 minutes from my house! I live in Reseda and both are in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.

Oh oh. lol I have one almost just like that of Larry flying out of the raft as we're going over, "The bump" on the Nantahayla River. lol We did fine over the waterfall and all that, we were a GOOD crew and had a great time, but when the pic snapped.......lol

It was so funny how he saw himself as our crew chief, and we saw ourselves as on vacation, and he kept ordering us to do things so early in the morning, and then "WHOOPS"!!!

I will never forget his face midair. lol I'm laughing like Dick Dastardly now about it. Funniest thing I EVER saw, that karma so instant, and Larry up in the air with an O for a mouth. LOL I still crack up about it, so do the skids. :-) But, now, lest you think I'm mean, I was worried, and wanted to make sure he was OK first, then as we finally rescued him, he was a much more vacation minded person, and by God he held on during the ride down the waterfall! lol

One of the funniest memories of my life so far. :-)

Cynde, I guess I didn't realize how far North Tarzana was either. My nephew has two sons and they both have Autism. Ohio doesn't offer much in the way of help but California has great schools and lots of help. That is why he moved there.

Thank you Mercy, now I have a better understanding as to where they moved to. They are on Reseda Blvd. Looks like I need to plan a visit soon. I was in LA about three years ago and loved it!

Kathy, you have to post the pic!

Lisa, both sons have Autism? Now that's a challenge, I cannot even imagine. I didn't realize that California schools had more help in regard to special ed. that makes me feel better! The San Fernando Valley is really nice. My brothers 3rd ex wife's sister lives there, and my brother and niece still see her quite often (I know, another one of those "weird" family ex things...well...you know...lol!) Anyway, I took Jennifer up to see Kathy from our house one time...took a long time to get there but they are at the base of the mountains somewhere up there in the "Valley" I think that's what they locals call it Mercy, right? A lot of the Hollywood Stars live in the SF Valley...oh wait, Mercy's one of them:-):-):-)

When you come out to visit, we will have to see if we can make a meet for sure:-)

OK, just had a chance to look at that map a little closer. I'll have to find out where Jen's Aunt lives. I remember taking the 210 for a long time, then I think I went on the 118. I'll have to find out. Lisa, the Tarzana area is close to heading North (get out of town), and into Hollyweird (sorry Mercy):-) I think they will probably find a lot culturally to do:-)...if they have time with what they have on their plate. How old are the children?

We're down in the Dana Point area:-)

Oh I wouldn't say I'm a star by any means...just done a few movies and TV shows in the last couple of years. At least my bank account reminds me I'm not a star!!

Yes, "The Valley" is pretty much known by that moniker everywhere...even though there are a lot of other Valleys around here. The Valley is always known as the San Fernando Valley. I don't think it's that nice out here. It's damn hot and during the heat wave we had back in July....one of our cities in the Valley, Woodland Hills, recorded the hottest temp EVER in the history of Los Angeles.....119 degrees!!

The Valley is kinda near Hollyweird, it's about 10-20 miles Northwest of it depending on where you live in the Valley. I live in the deep northwest end of the Valley, so it's about a 40 mile roundtrip drive for me to go to almost any auditions. But we're used to driving far to anywhere we want to go here in Los Angeles.

You live in a MUCH nicer area...the beach Cynde!! I LOVE Dana Point..you lucky girl!

The oldest, Hunter is four and they also have Dylan who is 18 months. Having one child with Autism is bad enough, but they were really upset to find out that Dylan had it too. There just wasn't much help financially or groups to support what they are going through here in Ohio. They chose California because there is so much more help and knowledge there. The area they moved to, gives them two schools to choose from. Both schools will offer just what the boys need to get the best care and understanding for what their needs are. In Ohio my nephew was working two jobs and his wife was working full time just to pay for the boys physical therapy. They still didn't have enough money to pay for the speech therapy. The boys grandma babysat them so they didn't have to pay for that. It was just a very sad situation and it didn't seem like there was any help here. I really hope they get what they need in California even though we are going to miss them.

I went to Hollyweird and was surprised at how dirty it was. I was expecting it to be so clean and pretty and it just wasn't what I thought it would be. It was a good time though.

Mercy, it was HOT ALL OVER this entire summer, even in Dana Point...we had 100F temps here too...here was my redneck AC for the summer
redneck ac...it was just a miserable summer all around.

Lisa, it is dirty in a lot of places in downtown hollyweird. The streets, etc. BUT, you can see some marvelous Broadway Plays up there and such.

What a double whammy for your nephew. Wow...man...I just cannot imagine. Fulltime care, dad working 2 jobs and mom full time and 2 little ones with Autism. Talk about stress. I'll email you my phone number and contact info, please give it to them and please tell them to call me at any time. We aren't close, but we can help them out and can be and ear. They can come down and have a nice day at the beach, on the boat, relax, try to de-stress once in a while. Open offer, please tell them to call me when they get into town so we can touch bases.

My ex boyfriend that lives 20 min outside of London said it was over 95 degrees there this past July. And my ex husband in Finland said the same thing...global warming baby!

Love the redneck way of coolin' off Cynde!

I guess Hollywood has this glamorous reputation attached to it, but as you can see, it is a dirty unkempt town. And this is after cleaning it up like they've done the last couple of years.
