Good morning all! I hope today is a better day for all that have had recent trials.

I woke up in less pain this morning, hope it is a positive sign. Going to visit the Orthopedic Department today to see if they can put ol Humpty Dumpty back together - again.

Patrick, I hope you will do the Hokey Pokey for us soon. I am sad that I can not be there to do it with you:-{(}

Tom, I didn't know you were injured, too. What happened?

I actually have been having good days of late, but it all comes in cycles, I know. Came into work yesterday and my boss had a surprise for me. She had nominated me for a significant raise weithout telling me, and it came through! So now our measly 3% next month will be based on a higher salary, so GOOD!

Congratulations, Kathy! That's a wonderful surprise. :-) (And I'm willing to bet you deserved it and it was long overdue....) No dump truck for you today.

Hugs to you, Tom, and I hope your visit to the kingsmen goes well.

Vira, I hope we can bring you some sunshine today.... (((Hugs)))

Jerry, Thinking of you all this morning. Chaos says "Woof" to Caymus! He just dumped his water bowl on the kitchen floor and brought it into the computer room to play with - a 'new game' that I hope he tires from quickly. And the floor needed washing anyway! Right Cynde?!

Hugs, smiles, and sunshine to all of the rest of you - Ya'll have a trouble free day! :-) :-) :-)

Tom..."gentle hugs" buddy:-) Hope the healing and therapy go relatively "painless?" That's probably not an option. Glad you posted, I was gonna say something but have kept my trap shut:-)

Vira :-):-):-) It will all be OK:-)

I thought about Caymus, Jerry, and Louise several times during the night. Big happy thoughts that it all turns out OK.

Gail, glad Chaos is up to his old "tricks."

Kathy, congratulations:-)

Good morning everyone!
Tom, hope you just keep feeling better everyday and good luck with your visit today.
Elvira, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jerry, I am thinking of you and your wife today. I know everything will work out for Caymus.
It's a beautiful morning in Ohio. I talked Kyle into going over to the nature preserve across from our house this morning at 7. We were there for 2 hours and saw 6 deer and lots of birds. What a great way to start the day. I am going to miss him when he goes back to school Wednesday.

This is a pic of him hiding from the deer. He just cracks me up.

kylehidingfromdeer

Have a wonderful day!!

I think the cycle of bad things happening to our group is now starting to go back the other way. Kathy's good news is the beginning. Tom, I'll bet that means you'll be recuperating quickly, and Jerry, Caymus will be romping about in no time! Yes, I know I'm the eternal optimist, but the power of positive thinking and all that couldn't hurt! :-) You are all in my thoughts!

Tom - hope you get back to feeling 100% real soon & good luck today
Kathy - congrats on your raise. Now you can plan more trips
Jerry - my thoughts are with you, your wife & Caymus. My Maggie & Millie are sending big (gentle) paw hugs to Caymus.
Gail - love that water bowl trick. Ours do it with their dog bowls & it's fun trying to find them. Wouldn't have it any other way though!
Vira - warm hugs to you today
Lisa - what a nice way to start the day. What grade is Kyle going in to?
Christine - I'm with you & the power of positive thinking!

We will have to see what we can do about those shirts!

Thanks folks! Patrick I heard you say "Big Guys Don't Bounce" when I went to camp this afternoon:-{)}

To those that don't know, last Wednesday while dismantling our camp (where Pamela and I are building our house), a beam I was cutting bounced back knocking my ladder out from underneath me. I fell 12' landing on my left shoulder in a pile of rubble. The shoulder was seperated, humerus broken, ribs bruised and ego was deflated completely.

Today I spent quite a long time in the Orthopedics Department and received great news. The break on top of the humerus is stable and at this time no surgery is needed (insert big smile), everything else is stretched and bruised but not detached (another big smile). Doctor told me no lifting with left arm for six weeks to allow the humerus to heal, therapy will follow.

Unfortunately this means my trip to Bonaire for the 3rd to the 19th of September is off. Was so looking forward to celebrating my 49th with some of Annette's Molten Lava Cake:-{(} Fortunately, when I am healed and ready, Pamela has said I am to go and get my "Bonaire Therapy". Patrick, will let you know when that is.

Also fortunately for our contractor, my being home means that I will be able to sit in my chaisse with my lime-ade, supervising the building of our new house, the foundation should be poured in the next three weeks(evil Homer laugh).

Be well all, and again thanks!

Oh yeah, tomorrow the One Armed Guy Demolition Company is back at camp. This time with hired help to do the dirty work. I think I might like being a supervisor.

Wow, Tom... broken humerus? OUCH!:-( Glad to hear you don't need surgery on that! But man... 6 weeks of no using the arm, that bites.

Here's to quick healing, and that trip to Bonaire for "physical therapy":-)

Oh, and just so there are no worries... I don't recommend "tutoring" for a broken arm, LOL! Thanks for praying for me and the pygmys! ;-)

Thanks for letting us know what's been ailing you. (Fortunately, bruised egos heal, too. :-) ) I've been in this confounded boot for 5 weeks now, and I'm so tired of it, but my toe and ankle will not heal properly without it. Your stretches and bruises will heal, and the bone too, in time. Maybe it's time for you to slow down a bit.... :-)! Pam is a gem to let you know that your trip is still at the end of the tunnel! (Does she ever get to go to Bonaire?!)

Becky, WHEW!!! LOL thanks for the laughs!!

Gail, my lady is a gem, she has not gone, nor does she have a desire to visit Bonaire. We take separate vacations, each going where and doing what we want, then take vacations together. It has worked for for almost 19 years, 16 1/2 of those years married:-{)}

Cynde, I love it when my creations are returned for my benefit:-) Wish I would have given you shoulder pads, they might have helped me last week;-{)}

Tom, I'm picturing you with a big laser pointer for your good arm... guiding your contractor (shall we say gently?)
How does the saying go????
Walk softly (or "land" softly) and carry a BIG stick!! You only need one arm for that :-) :-)
Heal well and swiftly! Bonaire will be there for you when you're ready (at least that's what I keep telling myself!)

Ahhh - also a good thing it's the left shoulder/arm. You can at least shift a standard vehicle....! Maybe when Ben and Katie reach an age, you can show Pam what we all love about Bonaire!

Tom, that sounds very painful. :-( Glad you are taking it in stride, and turning those limes into lime-aid. lol I hope your trip is not delayed too long! And I take it you and Patrick are going together? Way cool. :-)

Oh, and thanks everyone about the raise. I couldn't tell anyone at work, so Larry and you guys were IT. I was about to burst to tell someone. :-)

Barbara, you promised you wouldn't post that photo.

Kathy, it took a sister on Bonaire reminding me that I would go buggy, if I was that close to the reefs and not able to play on them to convince me to postpone my trip. You know, it would be like going to the Swiss Chalet and ordering water:;-{(}

Off today to watch (supervise) other finish the demolition of our camp.

Helmet - check
Lime-ade - check

Hope all is well with everyone, especially Caymus today! My old dog Boris is ready to jump in the truck and head to the lake with me and Benjamin.

Talk to you all later.

Hi all, great day, didn't have to do much other than direct the action and man the grill at lunchtime for the real workers along with Boris and Sadie.

Pamela joined us at lunch time and brought Boris home afterward, he was a bit upset as he could not find "his" hearth or favorite daybed. The fireplace is now gone and his daybed is in storage.

Warning....Tom...

Contractors charge MORE when supervised. I always watch the contractors' eyes and expressions when Al tells them he'll be around to "help". HA! :-)

Hope you heal quickly !

Linda, I know a bit about contractors, before I became an underpaid diveshop bum, I was a foreman for a few.

Barbara, it's okay, I wish my legs still looked that good, instead of all cuts and bruises. Also, I am more free, now that you have outed me.

All together now:

Don't get strung out by the way I look
Don't judge a book by its cover
I'm not much of a man by the light of day
But by night I'm one la, la, la, la, la.

Whew! There, I feel better now, back to work.
