Lilian this board does not use that code and will not display linked pictures. Look under Formatting below for instructions for posting photographs. It is best to use the test area for learning the technique, it's not intuitive and will take a few trys to get it down.

On the other hand I am looking forward to the pictures.

Lilian, great pictures!!:-)

You were asking how to resize and post them directly so I'll copy the advice Roy gave me when I was trying unsuccessfully to post my first pictures:

2 ways that I know of finding the file size with Windows XP or 98
(obviously depends on what system you're running on the PC) either,
open the pic folder in Thumbnails or Filmstrip view and hold your
mouse pointer over the picture and a separate little window will show
you file details such as type and size.
the other way is to right mouse click on the pic file and then left
click on properties, this will also show you the file size ...KB or
1,000's of bytes

To resize the pic (again if using XP) double left click on the pic
file, this should open up the picture in "Windows Picture & Fax
Viewer",
at the bottom of this window is a toolbar the right hand tool is image
editor, click on that will open up "Paint",
click on the "Image" tool at the top
then the "stretch/skew" button
alter(reduce) the horizontal & vertical values by the same amount
(start of with 50%) then see if the file size has come down to 50kb
(check as above)

there are plenty of other types of image editing software around, but
the way I have described can be done with just the standard windows
98/XP installation. I do apologise to all those who aren't Windows
users

Hope this helps, it worked well for me. Give it a try and let us know if it doesn't work.

I hate to see a damsel in distress

I took the liberty of saving the pics from your links and checking the size of them all the kuss and ride ones we're over 50KB all I did was crop them by about 6mm and the size is now well below 20KB (see test Thread) the Fish pics are all below 30KB so they should post without problems.

I can post them too, if you want? :-)

I just couldn't wait till monday, sorry :-)

Thank you Roy!!

I am not an experienced u/w photo maker so maybe the quality is not what you are used to.
I have a Canon A40 in a u/w casing, and this was the first time I used it.
Before I never took picktures u/w.
Maybe in a few years I will buy a real u/w camera, first I want to see if I still like to do it for a few vacations.
Or else it is a lot of money if I don't like it anymore.
I think it does sometimes make the dive less relaxing when I want to make pictures.
My husband is an exelent spotter, so he sees everything and is constantly "clicking" for me.
Most of the times i am verry happy that he sees all the little stuff, but after 10 dives I have the normal things already on photo.
I must talk with him about this next time I think! ;)
I love him very much for seeing al the special things, but howmany pictures of banded shrimp (for exsample) can you make??;)
