I'm not having a happy Monday night. :-( I have to return to work tomorrow, after having been on vacation since June 30. We had a wonderful week one just piddling around the house, a wonderful week two on Bonaire, and an extra day to wash/dry gear, cut grass, refill fridge, do laundry, reintroduce pup to the household, catch up on BT....... and now to return to the real world.... :-( . I so want to win Lotto and live these last 2 weeks forever!

And I know I will not find anyone to sympathize with me......:-)

If it was any other time of the year I would not sympathize with anyone else either! :-)

Gail, I sympathize AND empathize. lol

I keep trying to win the Lotto, too, but all we win is enough to keep playing (which works enough to keep the hope alive). :-)

I like to dream of "if we won the lottery....like, several million....what would we do?" :-) Of course we'd put kids first and give them all homes and a nice almost untouchable account, then decide where we want to be (but I love it here), then after all the charity and all, work for Mote Marine or something similar as volunteer research divers. Yeah, that's the life I dream of. :-)

Gail, are ya'll going anywhere else in the next few months? It's lobster season approaching, ya know. Lauderdale by the Sea is a fun place to be during lobsters season, and the diving is NOT Bonaire, but pretty darn good. Think about it!

Good evening everyone! I sympathize completely Gail. I have been wanting to win the lottery for a while now. I have so many plans for that day it is not funny. LOL! Ok...maybe it is funny planning for a day that probably will never come. :-)

So, are the Bonaire Talker levels posted somewhere on the website? I'm looking to see what the categories are for which title.

Kathy have you done the lobster diving? We keep talking about it, but I am always teaching when it starts up (usually finals week for summer semester). We always heard the place to be was the Keys for that. Not correct? Does it start at the same time all over the state?

i was in marathon key at the end of october one year lobster season was in - only problem was there seemed to always be a green moray sharing the hiding spot with the lobster - i was not gonna stick my hand under any of those rocks;)

and to add to the excitement...the sound of spear guns firing in the distance;)

geez...

Tribs and Bob, yep, we did lobster hunting in I think September of last year and I posted it here. As I said then, I am SUCH a gatherer and NOT a hunter. No spear guns or any other lobster-ers around. It was our sea, our space.

The Keys are too crowded during lobster season. Lauderdale by the Sea is old Florida, uncrowded and old timey and loaded with lobster and just....perfect. We were there again in June this year, and it's always just so very nice. Lauderdale by the Sea is a place we've been diving since Larry introduced me to diving. It's like "home base".

I found it, the lobster post from last season (which is July thru September, I believe!)

Thanks for the info...I will check it out. We were told that for three days before the season opened, divers could go down and grab them by hand. Also told that was in the beginning of August. Yippee...maybe I can do this over Labor Day weekend.

As it turns out it is a very nice night... the day started out ominous enough with a missing cat and the news of a hurt friend...
Bob (the cat) came home, ate and went straight to bed after a full night on the town
give a guy some slack, sheesh
As soon as I took this picture he put his paw over his eyes like a hung over sailor :-)
Also, I got a call from Guy this morning that his station had gone on a call that involved a good friend of mine. It seems she had fallen backwards off of her front porch while trying to rearrange flowers and landed squarely on her head and back. She is going to be fine but oh, so sore.

As far as lobster season - I think you should come out here Tribs :-) I haven't done it yet, but the other captain at Guy's station catches his limit every night he goes out. They have lobster for dinner a lot!

My son is now safely home after fighting a big brush fire in Yucca Valley (over 50,000 acres) here in So. Cali. He just became a firefighter so I was a bit worried about him. He even got interviewed on TV! Then all the guys started teasing him and called him, "Hollywood"! My Monday is good now.

Mercy - at my husband's station if you're on TV or in the newspaper you have to buy the station ice cream - house rules :-)
Glad your son is home safe!

Bob is soooo cute! Boom haven't you learned already, if you invite me I have to crash on your floor. Silly woman! Of course, Bob looks like he might make for a good pillow or at least a cuddly buddy. :-)

Mercy, I'm glad he's safe and sound. (and famous!).

Bob the cat kicks butt he's so cute.

Gail, I completely sympathize... sigh... I have bad news ! I found out today I cannot dive on my upcoming Bonaire trip -- in one week. What a bummer. I'm having some pretty serious lung/breathing problems and cannot be cleared to dive. As the half-full-glass-husband says, "now you have more room in your suitcase!". God love the non-diver. :-)

So I will snorkel a LOT, read a lot, and sleep alot. Something I haven't gotten much of the past 7 months! Riley will be 9 months old on Friday... my oh my how the time passes.

I will miss my boys so much on my trip. Almost 16 days alone without them and Stephanie.... and now NO diving. Bahhhhh!!!!!

Boom I can't wait to watch that episode!

Oh real nerves of steel....I was almost crying when I heard he was headed out there!

Hey Boom, we got FF in the hizzy!! Sorry, I'm from Los Angeles..no, we don't all talk like that out here but it helps! Love that ice cream idea...I'll pass it along to him.

Hey again Boom....I am working on the film location where the "Hero" crew just came in to do a scout and will start filming there shortly! Another coincidence perhaps??

What biz do you own there in SB? I love SB and will actually be up there the week after next getting my new bikini custom fitted in Summerland.

Very Cool Mercy!! YGM :-)
Are you working with the Hero crew?? If so have you had the pleasure of meeting Ian Quinn? He is the stunt coordinator, our friend and a customer!! He's just a terrific guy who has sent a few kids up to test with Guy's department.

Let's see, the week after next... we are heading up to Paso on the 30th for a day or two but after that we're here with loads of family - everyone's coming into town for Fiesta... have you been here for that???

It'd be great to meet you - just give me a jingle!!

Mercy,
You have a son old enough to be a firefighter?! You don't look a day over 35 ;-) And...(from another thread) you played ice hockey??? You truly are THE most interesting person I've never met!

Vicki

Kelly - I'm truly sad to hear you won't be able to dive this trip. Better to stay safe and healthy and have lots more trips. (Besides, it wasn't that great this year.... viz was at 50% normal, winds were kicking.... Are you buying it yet?)

Cynde - today was rough! Too much catching up and not wanting to be there! Lotto?
