Tara and Guy drove down for the afternoon. We had a great time. LOTS of food, wine, and chatting:-) There was a small craft warning so we didn't leave the dock, but we really had a great time. Can't wait to get together with them again:-)

This one is for Ruth. We heard the plane and all turned around and looked, and thought of Ruth:-)
KFC rocks

Michael, Tara, and Guy
Michael Tara and Guy

Guy, Tara, and Michael with the BT flag:-)
Guy Tara Michael and BT flag

They brought some delish sausage, cheese, crackers, and great dinner wine and desert wine (along with some beers for Michael:-)) We had strawberries soaked in gran marnier for desert on cake with whipped cream, white and chocolate! YUMMMM! The wind was whipping and it got cold so we ended up inside for desert:-)
YUMMY DESERT

OH, and spongebob...Tara is a rocket scientist...she will prove it when she posts her pics:-) heh heh...

It doesn't matter if you didn't leave the dock! The biggie is that you all had a great time and enjoyed each other's company!

We made it home in great time (2hr15min) - no traffic :-)
Cynde & Michael were worth the drive!! And not to mention Tuffy Tuffy the tugboat that could
The day was just wonderful - the weather cooperated - albeit as long as we stayed docked. But that worked fine for us, as Guy said, it gave us more time to chat and meet each other. The day was a tad windy though and at one point an umbrella decided to attack Cynde (probably wanted that pink hat) the wind was part of the party too!
Dinner was great ~ filet mignon, sauteed zuchini and yummy garlic bread ~ all done on Tuffy's backside (sorry I don't know my nautical terms and Guy has gone to bed) The BBQ is just behind Michael, who is sitting behind Cynde with Guy off to his left (your right :-)) nothing like BBQ on a boat!
I whimped out on dessert and took the easy route of marinating the strawberries in Grand Marnier and bringing canned whip cream. But hey, those cans are FUN! fancy desserts
I tried to dazzle them with the wine so that they will come running to Santa Barbara for wine tasting - this shot is for you Jerry! wine label
To prove that I can read a camera manual, here is our group shot using my timer :-)
SoCal BTrs
And last but not least - as we were packing up to head down to Tuffy our youngest cat was trying desperately how to sneak into the backpack and join the fun!
here kitty kitty!

It was such a great time - Guy & I can't wait until Cyne & Michael come up here for a BT "Sideways" Winetasting Tour!

Wow, the mini-meets are a booming business these days! Looks like Tara could go into the catering business! Great pics, looks like you all had a great time! Too bad you couldn't get a tour of the marina in the boat! That was a lot of fun last time we visited!

Morning Babs!
I can only take credit for the easy stuff - bottle of wine and canned whipped cream LOL!!
We'll just have to use the marina tour as an excuse for another get together!

Boom, glad you guys got home in record time and had no traffic. The LA traffic chant I was doing must have worked...lol!

BT Sideways wine tasting tour...hmmm...I think I see a t-shirt in the making:-) Tara didn't whimp out on desert, it was delish along with the sausages, cheese and crackers she brought. And that wine...mmmm...Michael talked about how good it was all the way home (and the beer too).

Marina tour, yea, we can do that and dock at the Jolly Roger and go in and have some happy hour cocktails and hordourves:-):-)

We had 2 umbrellas up on the back, and one kept flipping up the wrong direction. then the one above me suddenly fell over and konked me on the head...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...lol!

We did have a "virtual" connection to the Florida MM - Called Elvira and we got to talk to her and Dr. Doo too. And Patrick was there virtually as well, he gave us a call to make sure we were "behaving":-)

Aft! Or Fantail! When we were only married a year, John went off on a westpac to end up in Honolulu and I went home to CT. I decided to surprise him for when the boat came in, and was on the pier in Pearl Harbor as the ship approached. I saw a guy who looked like he knew what was going on, and asked him if a guy was in the sonar group, where would I look for him... and he told me the fantail, or the backside of the ship. And that's where I found him - in the AFT of the ship!

It is also commonly referred to as the "stern" of the boat:-) We went out today (no small craft warning) and she handles like a dream in 2-5 foot seas:-)

Hi Gang! Great pics! Really nice to see all of you getting together! I was in Atlantic City today and saw Deep Sea 3D finally! I didn't even know AC had an Imax Theater. Was a really good show, glad I went. Off to go fishing tomorrow with hubby's new boat he bought and maybe we will catch some fluke! Yummy! Nice little fishing boat, have to name her now! Letting my son have the honors! LOL!

Here's a doozy... yesterday we got to talking about funny movies... Cynde said a favorite of hers was "Zoolander" and, well, pretty much anything with Will Farrell in it. After a day of chores and bill paying (or avoiding them) I turn on the tv and what's playing but Zoolander and Will Farrell's Kicking and Screaming.
Cynde you were right - Kicking & Screaming is cute :-)
btw- love the picture of Michael - he looks so happy!

Kelly - you and Kitten have to come out for the Sideways Wine Tasting Tour

Timmmmy- it will always be "Backside" to me - hee hee

LOL Tara! I haven't seen Kicking and Screaming yet, just bits and pieces the other day as Dylon was watching it...but Zoolander...just can't be beat...lol!

Too bad conditions today, weren't yesterday. You guys will have to come back down so we can actually take you out of the slip! I got to take the helm for the first time today (besides the sea trial in Washington)...Michael got to relax a little:-) There were a LOT of boats, dinghies, and kayaks out though, in the harbor and out on the water...it was a zoo!

I agree, Kelly and Kitten need to come out for the BT Sideways Wine Tasting Tour:-)
