Greetings and Salutations from the Sunshine State.

Wasn't much sun around here yesterday. A huge thunderstorm came through about lunch w/50mph plus winds. That lasted for about 2 hours, then rain till about 9pm. Guess it knocked down the cable lines, because roadrunner was out from 1-10pm. Looks like I missed a spectacular sunset last night.

Another downside, the monarch chrisalis was knocked down and the ants got to it before I did.

And a musical salute from the Baked Bean State!

Bummer, Cindy! Well, there's another monarch butterfly in heaven today.

I just skimmed the archives back to dark and got some fishies - include Charlotte's tail and Bluebeard!

LIBRARY BOOK DAY Lending libraries have been part of culture down through the ages. The longest book ever published? It's "The Yongle Dadian" - a 10,000 volume encyclopedia written by 5,000 scholars over a period of 5 years during the Ming Dynasty in China.

I was trying to find the pic of DonQ for the mule day, but guess I didn't save it.

Where would I have spent my summers if it weren't for the library? I'd check out a half dozen books on Saturday then sit in the sticky old white pine tree (the catbird seat) at home and read!

I know DonQ was around the 16th of October or so - he showed up the night before I moved in here permanently. (I was just a lurker before that!) LOL

Rusty...I'm going to be bringing the computer in on Saturday to be fixed...(boo hoo) so I will be off line from Sat...till late next Sunday... We leave on Weds for the Bahamas...if there is a computer there, I will try to lurk......so someone will have to take over mornings (I don't see a problem!)

I was off looking for dances so I caught the divers but didn't post them. Thanks for the DonQ Meryl. didn't know you were out there this morning.

Yeah since I worked yesterday daytime...I am on a better morning schedule today...

my fantasy house would have a huge room full of shelves. Then I wouldn't have to step over the piles of book on my office floor.

Photo albums?....Steve started putting pictures on slides.....we have an old projector screen and he does his boring....one fish ,two fish, red fish, blue fish slide nights....he loves the slide projector...I told him about putting them on disc...but he can't even turn on the computer!

it would be nice to have a library room....with one of those slide ladders.....that could be fun!

I meant bookcases. I was going to put Jim's old family slides on the computer, but I found the quality is so bad and the colors are too muted. The scanner really has trouble with the indoor shots. outside ones aren't too bad.

Just like I was going to transfer all my old albums to cd's. LOL
