It's amazing how much affection the world has always felt for the Queen Mum. She'll be missed like a favorite Grandma.

easter

Cindy - drool! Look at those strawberries! We don't even have daffodils yet! You are so far ahead of us. Imagine fresh veggies and fruits for Easter.

Meryl - our first Easter at home in twenty years. Dinner for two - Bob's choice. Dad's spending the day with Jo's family. He and I are going to make a memorial garden later in the week outside the kitchen nook bay window. That's where we saw the bunny on Thursday.

Same here, this is the first time in several years we're not going to my parents. I guess since all the kids are 14 & up, we just don't do the easter egg thing anymore.

Kerry (the 8yo next door) came over last night and helped me color eggs. They were gorgeous when we finished, but after spending a night in the fridge, they're starting to run. We finger-painted them.:)

Cindy - they are so pretty - what did you fingerpaint with? Do you have pastel fingertips today? Bet Kerry gets a kick out of your time together doing kid stuff. :)

crayons

More kid stuff - Coloring Crayons Day - In 1903, Binney & Smith, Inc. put crayons on sale for the first time. Their brand name "Crayola" was made by putting the French word for chalk (craie) with "ola" (for oily). The first Crayola crayons came in a box of 8 and sold for 5 cents. Today, Binney & Smith produce about 7 million crayons every day in 120 colors. The average American child uses 730 crayons by his 10th birthday. It's no surprise that a study shows the smell of Crayola crayons is one of the twenty top scents recognized by adults in the U.S.

Hi Rusty, just checking back in. We're installing a new faucet in the kitchen. have the wrong size fittings so I get a little break while Jim runs back to the store.

I bought one of the Dudley color kits with paint packs. We were trying to paint stipes and dots, but it was really messy, so I finally just dipped a finger in each color and started turning the egg around in my hand. We decided they looked pretty good and did them all that way. After a night in the fridge, they're not nearly as pretty. They taste good though.:)

How's your day going? I'm still trying to recoup from Nona's birthday party friday night. was up way past my bedtime.

Cindy - tha traditional "replacing the faucet" Easter ceremony, huh? Remember when we were kids and no stores were open on Sundays and holidays - you'd HAVE to relax or put things off til you could get parts. The goood old days!

I think the fish on Bonaire took a holiday today!

Time for a new thread, Fred!
