This is so cool, I'm sitting in the Den typing on the internet, watching the HD tv, with Lily and Tipsy (wireless laptop).

Another weekend, another Nor-easter, we are 0-5 right now. We had a dive planned for today and the weather forecast went from good to grime in a few hours. We drove down to the Nubble, when we first saw the ocean it looked pretty calm, well at the Nubble, gale force winds were blowing into the cove.

I remember how calm it first looked, so we drove back to that spot (right in front of the York Harbour Inn) and it was in a lee spot and was barely divable. In we went, it was a sand dive but actually not bad and a lot of fun. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Wow. You are braver than I dear Cecil!

Our NYC fair weather has turned into a rainy evening. It began with a beautiful gray and gold sky that quickly got overtaken by dark storm clouds. Then a quick lightning blast, immediate thunder, and a deluge of rain! The rain is now gentle but steady, with an accompanying drop in temperature. Brrrrrr.

Gee, and we are having a major heat wave here in So Cal! It got up to the 90's! I was at the mall, and the clerks kept asking how hot it was outside...like it was the apocolypse! We are sooooo spoiled out here on the left coast, that's for sure!

It's darn chilly out here in the Northeast,Cynde! Very strange weather, indeed. I have friends headed for Vegas next Sunday...they will be cookin' out there! 110 degrees the other day....whew! Even if it is "dry" heat that's way too hot for me~!!

Cecil, our weekends have been about the same as yours. Today was decent but the rain moves back in tonite and will be showering all week and cool, to boot.

I really thought it was going to go right into the 90's by the end of April...I guess I was wrong this time. We did have the a/c on a few times weeks ago but you could use the heaters now! LOL.

Bonaire, get ready, here we come!!! Carole

One other thing of note, I will be heading to the Grand Canyon this upcoming week. The diving is pretty pitiful but the sightseeing is to die for. Sue is already there, I will be heading out on Tuesday. My nephew is graduating and my in-laws are celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss. Maybe I can get through one weekend without a storm.

Here's some shots from yesterday's dive.

The Hermit crabs were everywhere.

Very nice, Cecil!! I used to love playing with the many hermit crabs when we visited Cape Cod...I guess it was on the "bay" side, right? Calm waters...yup, that would be the bay.

Will you have time to get over to Lake Powell while you are out West?? Boy..if you can swing some time over there you would really go bonkers. Picture the Grand Canyon "damned up" with 9 trillion gallons of water...(well, in 1986 there were 9 trillion gallons!LOL)....absolutely breathtaking and makes you realize how miniscule man is in the realm of this universe...

If you can't get to Lake Powell the Grand Canyon by itself is absolutely fabulous, too.

I hope you get some nice weather out there.

It has changed three or four times today here in NJ....now it is sunny...a moment ago it was raining, before that it looked like a winter sky approaching us....Nor'Easter's in May??? Unheard of! It's downright cold out there, too! But it's happening..over and over and over....

Have a great trip, Cecil!! Carole

Cecil ... you can dive in the Grand Canyon. You just have to be careful to stay off the bottom. Other than that, its an awesome deep dive. :-)

Actually, there were divers using a dive bell when we were on Lake Powell for our houseboat vacation in 1986. It was called the "Diving Belle"...shades of Jacques Cousteau, for sure. They had some very impressive equipment on board their fancy houseboat. Must have been fun to dive with the bell and without. Waters were averaging 300 feet at that particular spot that day. I'd love to return to Lake Powell again soon....Carole

We'll be up on the South Rim, quite a ways from the water. You could get there in under a minute, it will take quite a while to bring back the body parts. I'll take pictures but photos are not in the ball park to the real thing, they don't call it grand for nothing.

Amen, Cecil...the only way to experience the Grand Canyon in her glory is "in person" with the old eyeballs....no piece of duplicating equipment does her justice...nor Lake Powell. I still look at our video footage and still shots and think to myself "boy, it just doesn't do it justice". Amen. Have a great trip!! Carole

Well Carole, it looks like Lake Powell might be in the cards. We're looking to do a boat trip one day. I'll know when I get there tomorrow. With my new wireless capability there may be a live shot from the south rim in the coming days.

Wow, Cecil!! That's terrific! If you get there, have them take you as deep into the lake (farther out in distance) as they can as the further/deeper into Lake Powell you get the more magnificent she is. Wahweep is pretty "flat" but when you get into BullFrog and on it is amazing....you will keep pinching yourself to see if you are dreaming or if it is really, real!

I'm so excited! I'll be on Bonaire when you are out there but I will check the board on occasion to see if you were able to get some shots and post them.

Have a wonderful trip! Carole

Cynde ~ We've been having a heat wave here in Dallas too! We broke records Sat. & Sun.

Cecil ~ Have a GRAND time in the Grand Canyon! I have pictures from our vacations there too, both the South Rim & North Rim, and I agree with the above comments. The pictures don't do the real thing justice! If you have time, take a tour of Hoover Dam. The crowds are a pain but it's a sight to see too!

Off to the canyon this morning. I'm going direct, by way of Baltimore. If I make all the lights and I can beat my way out of Phoenix during rush hour it will only take 17 hours door to door. Throw in a vacuum thermal cycle (40 degrees 100% humidity sea level here, 110 degrees 10% sea level/5000' middle, 65 degrees 25% 5200' end) it should be a fun day. The only good thing about flying left (west) is you can eat 10 meals if you try.

Lucky for Cecil, we're having a cooling trend in Phoenix. It's only going to be 104 today!
