OK, read this from Elvira on today's webcam thread:

quote:

Kathy, good luck in selling your house but I don't think you are going to have a problem - it sounds like you and Larry have a great place. You've got mail.

Eileen, seems like you had a good weekend and yes Quinn is a little man.

Annie, glad you found your dog - what a scared!!!

AARGHHH! I can't peek in at #$%^ anymore, so I miss it ALL!

Kathy, where are you moving?

Annie, what happened to Ben?

Eileen, what cute thing did Quinn man do? You can just point me to the thread if you like:-)

Ok Cynde, here is my story, even though the others read it before.

We had friends visit us last Saturday evening, and we all probably had much too much to drink. When the taxi came to take them home Ben must have ran out the front, but nobody noticed him go. Because he is a dark dog, he blends in with the night. He is dead crafty too. LOL.

Well about two hours later, we decided enough was enough and were going to bed. Trev went to go up first, and noticed Ben wasn't in his bed.

"Where is Thing" he says.

Well, we looked everywhere for him and he wasn't in any of his usual favourite places.

Panic set in, dog was gone. What the heck do I do now.

There was me walking the street in my nightie and bare feet, and Trev drunk as a lord driving round the streets. I ran inside quickly and put some clothes on thinking that all the neighbours would think that I was a mad woman :-) Good job nobody saw me.

Just as I had finished dressing, Trev came in with Ben.

He found him walking the street with a fox as if they had been friends forever. Would you believe that.

Shame the camera was not in the car. That would have been a sight for sore eyes.

We call him Foxy Dog now, LOL.

My next dog will be white so he shows up in the dark. LMHO!

Aggghh! Dogs, who'd have 'em. :-)

Annie, that's one heck of a story!! Walking the street with a fox!! LOL. I can just picture it now. That is too precious!!

I think Cynde meant "work"....that four letter word...I might be wrong, but I think she might be having "difficulties" finding time to peak in on BT during the daytime. Sadly, I have the same problem at my job...way too busy to join in during the daytime working hours for me.

It was great to talk to you again, Annie! Ayo. Carole

Annie...LOL! sounds like Ben, crazy like a fox. Monet went "missing" a couple weeks ago and I panicked. After about 30 minutes, we realized that Dylon had locked her in the bathroom (by accident)...poor Monet. Michael was driving the neighborhood, I was walking the streets (it was daylight and we hadn't been drinking yet though...LOL!)

Glad Ben is back safe and sound. I'm sure it gave you a scare!

Cynde, I didn't know this was over here till I came to look at prom pics! :-)

Ok, so we're moving to Tampa, FL. Wanted West Palm Beach (two areas my husband could transfer to with his company), but Tampa has a better deal for him, jobwise. (and more $$$) Our house went on the market yesterday and it was shown 4 times - it's quite the circus here! We have it priced kind of low compared to other houses that are comparable, but it's still almost double what we gave for it 12 years ago, so that's good. lol

It will be good to be able to dive more, and not just be able to dive on vacations. Now we can do weekend trips to Lauderdale and Keys, or hop down to Venice Beach to dive for sharks teeth (we've found some megaladons there). Larry's from St. Pete, so he's very familiar with Tampa. He's all excited to be going "home".

My daughter and SIL and little Erin are going to make the move with us, too. At first, at least, we're getting a big 4 bdrm house to rent until we can get settled and more acquainted with which area to live in, etc., and buy a house or houses. My son in law is also transferring with his company. My daughter works at Luke AFB in Phoenix and is trying to get a transfer to McDill as well. Me? My job right now is getting this house sold and getting us a place down there. lol Once we get there I've decided no more social work, either. This time I want a fun job. Maybe work for an airlines or something. Who knows, but the future is wide open and that's exciting. :-)

Kathy, wow! Big changes! One of our long time BT'ers Dr. Doo lives in Tampa...and you can trust him...he's a doctor! LOL!

Good luck with the house selling (and showing it, that's the pain part having to have everything neat all the time!) Cool that you doubled your investment to boot! Keep us posted...

David, I agree, I think that #$%@ word needs to be added to the "banned" list...LOL! I'm off!

Kathy, you should consider Jet Blue Airlines. I worked very closely with a woman who retired from the police department and moved with her husband to New Smyrna Beach, Fl. She was recently hired as a flight attendant at Jet Blue, and LOVES it.

Maybe you could even convince them to make a few flights to Bonaire?

Kelly, I like the idea of working as a flight attendant - maybe I just move to Florida too and work for Jet Blue - how about that!!!!

I came close to working for Delta but then I got divorce - bummer !!!! :-( :-(

I check Airtran and one of the requirements is height 5'2" to 6'2" with no shoes. I am 5'1"
there goes Airtran!!!! Maybe I can get myself stretch somehow :-) :-)

Did I miss something what is the St. Joseph statue for?

Elvira, I'd never heard of it until recently either, but Larry is catholic and heck, I was born at St. Joseph's hospital in Augusta, GA, so I'll be superstitious or open minded or whatever you wanna call it, too. So here's the dirt on it from snopes.com. lol Mine can't be here soon enough. Now, just where to put it! Kelly, where did you put yours? LOL

I am not Catholic but live in a neighborhood that is mostly. The first week we moved into our house I went outside and there was a women on her knees digging in my front flower bed. I said "Hello, what are you doing"? She said her friend used to live there and forgot to dig up her St. Joseph statue that she had buried in the ground. I had never heard of that until then. It brought them good luck. We bought their house two weeks after it was for sale.

Kathy, we buried ours a few feet away from the for sale sign. When you get your statue, it has "burial instructions".. seriously.. lol.
I said a little prayer, and added a few, "please"'s. Good luck !!!

I guess just ordering it gave me luck. lol The house sold Thursday to the people who looked at it Wednesday, and the statue came on Friday. :-) I still buried it and said the prayer! Don't want anything going wrong with the sale!

(I put mine upside down, facing the road in a flower bed in front of the house.)
