We decided to treat Monet and Buttercup to a "doggy spa day" Monet's hair has gotten really "fuzzy" as she's gotten older, and really needed a good groom. They put a "skirt" on her so to speak and it looked OK. So, we decide to take Buttercup in the next day. Michael told them, DO NOT CUT HER LIKE MONET...and gave them a picture of a long hair show dog, and asked she be groomed like the picture...Well, when Michael went to pick her up, they had shaved the upper half of her body, and the rest was left long...

The bad hair cut...I was so mad I called the place and gave them a piece of my mind...the owner just apologized and said that she was "sorry."



Now tell, me do those pictures look ANYTHING like this???

Awwww, poor Monet and Buttercup!! I hope they aren't too upset...some animals hate it when they are clipped and shaved. How are they handling it?? I guess you guys have to act as tho nothing changed....so they think the same way. Awwwwww. How long will it take for their gorgeous fur to fill back in?? Awwwww. Carole, thanks. I really was near tears I swear. Imagine someone shaving the top half of those kitties? I have no idea how long it will take to grow back. Of course, we have to act like nothing is wrong so she won't know she looks like a freak dog! I mean, these dogs are AKC Champion bread dogs! How could a groomer even THINK about shaving the hair like that????

I would be furious as well!!! Is there anything anyone can do to make the cut look "better". I am sure the hair will grow back soon.

Hi Cynde, my eldest dog Bosun (11 1/2) had his back shaved completley down to the skin for his back operation 8 weeks ago and now his fur has grown back and you can hardly tell. There is a slight ridge but it is blending in. I'm £2000 poorer but I have a happy and healthy dog again.

Eileen...there is nothing we can do, just wait for her hair to grow back...Brian, I hope it grows back fast. Some co-workers said it would take a LONG time for it to grow back...I'm hoping for Brian's outcome (on the hair) and on the healthy dog...they are my babies you know!

If it will make your pets feel any better, our cat Tompus had a body shave. His fur was so long and matted (outside tom cat)that the Vet basically just shaved his body....but not his tail, head or feet from the knees down.

OMG... I don't know whether to laugh or cry.. Cynde I am crying for you and laughing for Tom... that poor cat looks so MAD... I love when my cat gets mad and gives me "that" look.
