David, a mawashi is the name of the garment that a sumo wrestler wears.

In another thread, Leif S. posted a link to a purple dancing hippo in a mawashi, identifying the garment as a thong. I corrected him and posted a link of a sumo wrestler in a mawashi.

You made me laugh: Try telling a sumo wrestler that his mawashi is a 'girlie thing'! NOT!
