Hi Debbie-
My wife and I did this 2 years ago and had a great time. Staff was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot.

Enjoy your stay.

Hi Debbie..We did this last month and I must say was well worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable, it was educational and the scenery was great.
We also did not have any problems with mosquitoes. I was originally apprehensive about that.

Every trip we make we try to squeeze something in which we have never done before.
Well worth the time and effort to get there. Enjoy and I'd strongly recommend it.

We did it about two years ago and it was great. The staff is very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the mangroves. But... we got eaten alive by mosquitoes. So go, but bring a long sleeve rash guard and a hat to wear.

The kayak part is always great and we have done that several times. The staff are very informative and friendly. We did the kayak/snorkel trip a few years ago and I didn't enjoy the snorkeling as much. We couldn't use our fins so it was more work and the sandy bottom got stirred up anyway so the visibility wasn't too great. We got up close and personal with a big porcupine fish and that was cool. I would definitely recommend the kayak trip through the mangroves. Next winter we want to try the new solar powered boat trip so I can bring my parents, who don't snorkel and wouldn't be up for that much paddling.

Hi, Debbie,

My husband and I did the snorkel kayak trip a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. The guides are knowledgeable and the mangrove beautiful. We had a lovely snorkeling experience, too. Yes, the snorkeling is not the same as offshore; smaller creatures to see, and yes, visability not as clear, but what we saw was colorful and intriguing and the snorkeling added to the experience. (I also hate being on the water and not being able to go in the water.) We didn't have mosquito problems, so I think that is probably a variable you should be prepared for but perhaps won't have to suffer thru.
