Klein Bonaire sounds like a perfect place to sit on some sand & enjoy incredible snorkeling. Any suggestions to make our visit there more successful? Where do we get a water taxi & how much do they charge to go to K.B.? Thanks

Welcome to BT. My advice is to bring a good sunscreen since there is very little shade and a hat & decent sunglasses. Just pack it in a knap-sack. A little water would also be nice to have. I believe the water taxi departs by the Nautico pier in town front on. See this link for more info.

I would suggest hiring the Woodwind for your first visit in order to get a feel for the currents and the reefs. If you like the guided tour then go on our own with the water taxi.

Some snacks or lunch wouldn't be a bad idea either if you plan to take a break in between.

Thats what makes the woodwind such a great way to do Klein, you dont have to worry about hauling drinks and snacks and all that stuff for the day. They provide all the ice cold drinks you want oh and the food-----can you say brownie sundae???? haha-----the best days ever spent with them!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your input.... it's not like 20 - 30 years ago(guess that answers the question of how old i am ) when you went on vacation and truly knew absolutely nothing about where you were going, nor were there many nation-wide companies that you could count on being within 30 miles of wherever you were (such as Walmart, McDonald's, etc)

If you take the water taxi to Klein, call the day before to reserve, just in case, The number is 560-7254. It leaves at 10:00, 12:00 and 2:00 and picks up at 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 every day except Sunday, when it leaves at 10:00 and returns when the passengers want to. The fare is USD $15 per person, and they may also collect the marine park tax of several dollars. They can also pick up at piers other than Nautico, by prior arrangement.

Can I just restate what a couple of folks have said, for emphasis? Besides being lovely Klein is hot and arid. If a shade umbrella can be had, I'd take it along. And I'd freeze some bottles of water...regular water is going to be about as refreshing as hot coffee after not too long. If you're going to make a day, or even half day of it, these items might make you happier snorkelers...
