We will be in Bonaire for a day on a cruise and I was thinking of renting a small boat. Are idea is to motor around and snorkel at a few sites. Has anyone done this recently? How are things marked? Are there plenty of places to tie up at Klein? Any thoughts would be great.

There are plenty of buoys to tie your boat to.
We did it a couple of years ago and enjoyed snorkeling at different places wit our rental boat.
Bring plenty of water.

Jack, welcome to BT:) On my last trip in January we rented a power boat for the afternoon and had a blast. We went up and down the coast (they will give you a map of where you can, and CANNOT go) then went to Klein and grabbed a mooring and snorkeled. We brought food, drinks, etc. and had a ball.

You will need to bring your snorkel tag or your paper receipt for your dive park tag; or will have to buy one for the boat for $2.00.

Please just remember to stay in the deep blue water. It is illegal to go to inside the deep blue water to the more turquoise water due to the number of snorkelers and divers that may be below....don't want anyone getting hurt or something worse.

We rented from Bonaireboat Rentals located at the Plaza resort. Nice folks.
