I was snorkeling at Belmar apartments today and in about 20-25 feet of water we saw a spotted eagle ray (actually a free diver at Belmar pointed him out). We followed him for about a half an hour swimming around the shallows and ended up half way to bachelor beach. What a thrill, it was so exciting and the eagle ray was so majestic. My brother and I were free diving down to within about 5 feet of the ray and he didn't seem to mind at all just continued what he was doing slowly swimming.

I believe we met that fellow just north of Bachelor Beach in February. He doesn't seem to mind being watched. One of the highlights of our trip.

We met one of those fellows last September when snorkeling at Windsock. Came right up to the beach and seemed to be heading for Bachelors Beach. Rare and impressive sight!
