For having a glued together camera your pictures are still way more awesome than anything I've taken. Keep up the great photos

Love Magnus' photo! Carole

That's what I thought. These are some angles I'm not familiar with - gonna have to take a closer look at the Hilma in June with the video camera. Thanks Kelly.

Hi
Does anyone have any Idea whose tag that is. It looks like it's been there awhile. I don't know what a Bonaire tag looks like.
Mick

Mick,

I hope the turtle was tagged by STCB (Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire). You may find a link to one of the STCB threads here. Or you can do a keyword search (icon on the bottom of this page, type in turtle watch, click the AND option and hit search. If you are more curious, you may contact the STCB and ask them about the tag on the turtle in Henrik's photos.

I hope that answers your question.

Henrick, I love your 1000 step image, was this taken with your new wide angle lens? The water droplet in the upper corner makes it perfect!

Your pictures are beautiful. For christmas got hubby a cannon rebel and told him I wanted pictures like yours :-)from our next trip to bonaire. My husband says you have amazing photo skills but he is telling me he now needs more equipment :-). His birthday is in Jan what would be a good next lens to get him to take pictures underwater? Also is ikelite the best underwater housing to get ?

To make him happy you should give him a Canon 10-22mm zoom (or equal from ex Sigma) fore big things, a Canon 60mm macro for the small things (I use the 100mm, but that is a bit to long for many shots). If he wants to start with pics of fishes and other mid size things a mid range zoom is a good lens (I use a old 28-80 I bought used for $30). If possible give him a USM-lens for the fast autofocus.

I don't know if Ikelite is the best housing. It was cheap, and it works for me...

He would need at least one strobe, but it's better with two. If he want to use TTL he would be limited to new strobes. I never use TTL (or any auto settings, other than autofocus (when it works...)) so I bought two used Sea&Sea YS350. There a bit bulky but the batteries lasts for ever...

So - the cheap solution:
Ikelite housing with one port and a strobe arm, one used Sea&Sea YS50/60/90 (or similar), and the 18-55 lens that came with the camera (or better a 28-80). Total about $1,500-1,700.

If you win the lottery:
A TTL-housing, 2-3 ports, two strobe arms from Ultralight. A Canon 10-22 USM, (maybe a Sigma 8mm), 28-80 USM, 60 or 100 macro USM. Two TTL-strobes. Total at least $5,000.
