Just back from the island and I loved it!

I can't wait to go back -- Its going to be years from now but I am planning on a return :)

One thing I did notice is I think Bonaire might be getting a lot more serious about security for divers.

We noticed a number of private security trucks driving thru the north dive sites. Also it felt safe everywhere we went, the people who live on the island are very friendly to all the visitors.

Of course we didn't leave expensive things in the truck while we dove -- Thats just asking for trouble.

This was one trouble free and flawless vacation.

Thanks people of Bonaire!

Jeff: Thanks for the info & welcome. Glad to hear about the increased security which you noticed at the dive sites! I'm sure this has to do with the recent integration on 10/10/10. Hopefully we'll be seeing more good things coming from this!

Thanks for the report and update Jeff , nice .

Common sense and a little Island Security = best dive vacation spot going

I hope the recurring crime posts are a thing of the past , too nice a place to let a handful of gangsters control .

Jeff: I agree that one good way to deter thievery is to NOT give the thieves anything to steal. Just be cautious and leave nothing to chance. We've been to Bonaire three times and have never had any problems with things being stolen. Stealing is most often a crime of opportunity, right?
