Just thought I'd post some general comments and thoughts about my recent trip.

1. Stayed at Buddy's. Renovations are underway in building 200 -- so steer clear if you do not like the sounds of construction. It did not really bother me, but some may be sensitive to it. The resort seemed about the same as in years past. Overall good service and friendly faces with run down accommodations (glad renovations are underway)

2. Water temp ranged from 84-88 degrees F. I have never seen it that warm. A 1mm full suit was more than enough.

3. Diving was good overall but visibility was not as good as years past. But being from NC and diving the unpredictable Atlantic, anything over about 20 feet is good to me!

4. I thought Karparta was one of my favorite dives and Larry's Lair was my least favorite. Buddy's reef is still hard to beat for a guaranteed good dive.

5. I flew Delta and love that flight schedule. I was able to dive the day of arrival and up to noon on Friday (day before departure).

6. We had lots of rain and wind reversals, partly due to the tropical depression that formed early last week. Many locals commented the weather was very strange for this time of year. Not very much breeze which resulted in some warm days and the need for bug spray.

7. I could not see any visible signs of damage from the BOPEC fire - other than seeing the burned tank when flying in.

8. Lots of places had things priced in NAFL and USD in preparation to make the transition to the USD.

Overall, another very good trip for my 7th visit!

Hi Garrett..it appears we were in Bon at the same time and were both staying at "Buddy's" I'm sure we shared a few breakfasts together I agree with you, the weather was the worst I experienced and I was actually chilly at times!..it was also my 7th trip.

I was there to at the time....the family with the baby.

This was my 12th trip to the island and finally...the island is human. After explaining to everyone before the trip how it's always sunny, always windy, etc etc.... made me a liar.

Drove past the lighthouse mid-week I think...flat as could be. If my wife had more experience diving we would have dove that site...never done that before.

Oh yes Jason...I know who you are. One of my friends sat in front of you all on the Delta flight from ATL to BON. He doesn't like kids, so I got an earful once we landed on BON....lol.

The wind reversals were pretty cool. I hope you got a chance to check it out those couple of nights when the dock was closed.
