I just got back from Bonaire and had a fantastic time as always. I was there for only one week from April 17 to April 24. My buddy Wally and I flew to Bonaire on Insel Airline out of Miami. It went very smoothly. They even have free raffles on the flights for a free round trip airline ticket.

We stayed at Coco Palm Garden (http://www.cocopalmgarden.org/) and loved it. We have stayed there many times and it always feels like our home on Bonaire. Brigitte, Marion, Richard, and Eddy are such great hosts. We love the private gardens and spacious apartments. The cocktail hour get-togethers and buffet dinners are just as great as ever.

The diving with Dive Friends Bonaire was awesome (http://www.dive-friends-bonaire.com/). The boat dives were excellent. I was on the boat dives with a great group of people from Texas. They made the dives such fun! I saw two seahorses, two turtles, two octopus, a huge spotted eagle ray, a frog fish (Thanks Dave!), grouper, midnight parrot fish, tarpon, big eyed jacks, spotted drums, etc., etc., etc.

We ate at Richard's Seafood Restaurant (http://richardsofbonaire.com/). I love his seafood and the shrimp cocktail appetizer. The dining on the ocean while watching the sun set is not to be missed.

I celebrated my birthday at Capriccio's (http://www.emporiocapriccio.com/). The food there is so authentic and delicious. They made me a birthday desert made out of chocolate mouse with strawberry sherbert and decorative sauces.

I posted some pics from the trip at the below link. Click on the view album button.

The park permit is good for one year. I hope I can make it back within the year! One week is not enough time on Bonaire.

We also enjoyed the new safari drive through at the Donkey Sanctuary (http://www.donkeysanctuary.org/eng.html). They are also busy working on moving the buildings to their new site on the road to Sorobon.

Dean..Nice photos. That IS an interesting way to serve shrimp! Agree with you about Capriccio's (and also about 1 week is not enough) :)
Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Thanks for posting the links in your report. After reading about the tough times at the Donkey Sanctuary, I made a donation to help Marina save the donkeys
