Another wonderful visit to Bonaire..our 19th ! left cold Vermont on a Friday, flew Delta to Atlanta..stay overnight to avoid 40 minute connection. shuttle to airport Marriott ( Priceline $62 included tax), had to pick up our bags and recheck next morning, but NO CHARGE for two bags each checked. In Atlanta make sure you use the transportation train between the terminals, as it is a LONG walk..4 hours later we were in sunny Bonaire with that famous Bonaire breeze ,hitting us in the face as we step off the airplane onto the tarmac.

Vehicle shuttle awaiting us after long wait for luggage( good transition to "island time" ), because KLM came in before us..AB car rental, excellent service, even after two of the trucks had problems during the two weeks ...we were upgraded and taken care of in a timely manner, and would use them again

always a joy to open the curtains at Sand Dollar and see the view of turquoise water and Samur at it's mooring where we left it last year. Not many mosquitoes this year because it was so dry... goats wandering thru looking for something to eat...love our "happy hour" time watching the sun set out front...no green flash yet ! Groceries at More4Less, and Progresso, bakery items from grocery next to Chatn'Browse ( good little mini pizzas )

picked up tanks every day from Bonaire Dive Adventure , 25 shore dives, one night dive on Bari reef. Got to see juvenile trunk fish..neon yellow the size of a pea..and the yellow frogfish at front porch reef..an ocean trigger and lots of turtles and rays this year, but no green moray. We liked the BreatheBonaire webcam at Something Special, garden eels at 60 ft, and the easy entry here on rough days. When did Ol'Blue site get renamed to Tolo ? tons of silversides at the Bari dock, felt like diving in liquid silver. Did'nt bring our underwater camera this year and had longer dives. Be careful of the kiteboarders at Red Beryl and dive sites in that area, they are "stealthy"...Easter week was busy with alot of divers...counted 15 vehicles at Hilma Hooker site on day !

Ate out at Bobby Jan's twice, love the ribs there, and met with the BT group, thanks for the button Chet & Jean...and still home in time for Amazing Race show.
Pizza at RumRunners was excellent and hamburgs at Zie Ziecht . Mostly we eat in , because of the beautiful patio and view we have...make easy stuff and cheaper

Windmills at Boca Onima are new to see...Mary is missing from her window at Sera Largu( an excellent sunset spot), some days there were two cruise boats in harbor at same time...thousands of people downtown and vendors are in the square with local art. LOTS of new development..high rise buildings all over the place...two new rotary circles make intersections easier..whoever is IN the circle has the right of way now , so yield to traffic before you enter ...departure tax is $35 , and the parking fee is a pain..have to get a ticket inside, so watch your time parking there.

Read a wonderful book , Neutral Boyancy by Tim Ecott, when not diving..highly recommend..history of diving mixed with chapters of authors dive experiences.

came home with my bag of salt to season my oatmeal , some sea glass found at shoreline, and nice tan. The 3PM Delta flight in reverse got us home late Easter morning because they lost one of our bags, but found in Atlanta , and delivered to our home in Vt by taxi..so all ends well. Thanks for reading my report if you made it this far

Salt? On oatmeal? LOL, had to go back and reread the report after getting jolted by that! (It's ok, I put sugar on my tomatos.)

Thanks for the great report!

I only put alittle salt in the boiling water... local vermont maple syrup goes on the oatmeal..guess what I was trying to say is it'sjust a small reminder of Bonaire each morning when I do that.

yellow rocks are not just to mark dive sites .. BMP uses them for information and advisory reasons as well .. like no entry..which means at goto and lac/cai not even to transverse the land .. to get closer to the birds ..
