Well here's my trip report since i have a snow day today!! 12-16 inches total. We were on our second trip to Bonaire via redeye out of newark. all went well....uneventful flight completely full which was different from last year. Now i really debated about talking about our accommodations since i felt that I would ruin it for us if I tell how spectacular it was,but then I thought of our hosts and what it could do for them, and since they are so very special I figured I'd tell the truth. We stayed at Bamboo Bali a 5 cottage intimate place opposite of coral paradise. The owners,Sebastian,Anno,Vera and little Kalani make the place a piece of heaven on earth! The place is an absolute oasis with 5 tastefully decorated cottages that are very secluded because they are surrounded by trees and plants so you feel like you are the only people there! the little touches that they provide really make you feel like family. From the staples in the fridge when you arrive, especially when you are on the red-eye, that makes a huge difference.Coffee and o.j., fruit and bread with cheese. So nice. To the bottle of wine and glasses in the basket on your bed.Little touches mean alot!! The rooms are very spacious, big comfortable canopy beds (king size) a full kitchen with everything you could need. Ac and fan. Although the cross breeze with the windows open during the afternoons was heavenly. We had a fantastic time in Bonaire as we did last year, but i can honestly say that staying at Bamboo Bali definitly made a lasting impression on us and we will no doubt make it "our" place each time we return. We are snorkelers, and we were in the water all day every day trying all of the different sights north and south, we say alot again this year, but i have to say our favorite's this time were Tori's reef and the best being "Cliff",which conveniently was directly across from Bamboo Bali!! Nice. We saw so much here every day. Spotted eagle ray, turtle, octopus every kind of eel we could imagine. It was fantastic. Eating as always was wonderful. Two meals at Wil's.....the smoked marlin was back YUMMMMMMM!! Always a fantastic meal there. The lion's den our first time here. Very good. Paradise moon was excellent.Wahoo with green pablano sauce was excellent, and hubby had the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon with some kind of sweet hot sauce that was fantastic. and of course Pasa Bon Pizza really good and enough for a second meal. We ended at sunset grill which we loved last year so we saved it for our last night.....can't beat the setting but we ordered the same meal my husband had twice last year and I can tell you, I have a memory for good food, and this was totally different. Not bad, just not what we had expected. But overall with the ambiance it was a great last night. ( of course topping it off with Lover's cappucino doesnt hurt either!!) We rented our truck from AB again and had fantastic service as usual. And dispite all the theft talk on here lately we had no issues what so ever even when we left things like clothing, snorkel bag, sun glasses in the truck. We do have to say that Karnaval is not for us. We got there on sunday and went to the parade but for people who are low key and like the peace and quiet it was just not our cup of tea. So if anyone knows when it is next year....Sebastian from Bamboo Bali says he thinks it is the 12th -thru 19th of feb, please let us know so we can aviod that time. For those of you who enjoy it..... no disrespect its just not for us. Anyway, that is everything that I can think of it was another extemely enjoyable stay on Bonaire.....just too short, next year finally 2 weeks!!!!! Thanks to all who always post helpful information on here....I hope some of our info can help someone new as well.

Hi Susan. Thanks for the report. Is there a dive shop convenient to Bamboo Bali? I know you are snorkelers so you didn't need one. But if divers were to stay there, would there be an on-location dive shop to support us?

Actually, I did a little looking on my own. Here is the website for the location. And the links embedded in the site do an excellent job of telling you what Bonaire has to offer.

Susan, thank you for sharing Bamboo Bali... I was always intrigued by their web site, it sounds like it is a magical as the web site says and the pictures show. We definitely have to try it, too. Is the road in front of it an issue?

Not an issue at all....you have the traffic going by, but the rooms must really be made well because you do not hear it in bed at all, and while you're relaxing on one of your porches....you dont even notice it at all. (at least we didnt)
