Hi all,
I have been reading BT for a while I love Bonaire so does my wife. We finished our second trip to Boanire just before New Years. DELTA SUCKS!!! They lost our baggage for 4 days. Thanks to Buddy dive we had dive geer. We stayed at Hamlet great place nice people good police. WE got robbed our second day, our laptop, dive bag, cash, and beer (We cannot get Amstells in Utah)but we are still going back in December. Hopefully for two weeks this time. My wife and I are both teachers and are almost finished with our Masters. We cannot wait to get back to the Island.

Robert, Kudos for you planning your return trip. You had a few unfortunate issues. We have been to Bonaire several times it was after our first year going twice one week at a time that we decided to save on airfare and make all future trips two weeks. Knock on wood we have had nothing but positive experiences on Bonaire, we think of it as home away from home that we only get to visit once a year. As far as getting there we have always taken the continental red eye out of Newark or Houston Saturday night. We are headed back this year the first two weeks of April. I am glad you were able to take home with you the lovely things about Bonaire and plan on returning. Happy diving. Arnita

Robert..I've always found that the worst part of the Bonaire experience is getting there; followed only by leaving and returning home.

Was the robbery from the place you were staying or your car?

The robbery was done at the place that we were staying. We went for a walk and thought we had everything lock up. Missed one window.
We never leave anything in the truck that we care about.
