This is COOL! Checkout this Peacock Flounder. This is the long version of the above video. I followed this guy for about 10 minutes, but condensed the video to show the change in colors that he goes through as he swims along. It begins with him sitting on a coral head, he gracefully takes off, then swimming toward the camera he exhibits bright blue coloration. As he swims away and across the bottom, his blue coloration slowly dissipates until he is completely sandy colored. As he finally lands on another coral head, he once again changes his body color to a mottled coloration, mimicking the coloration of the coral. Totally awesome!

Rich, great vid. Where was this at? It looks like the "red algae" is all over the sea floor in some areas. It was largely wiped out by Omar, I hope it's not coming back quickly, it's gross and is destroying the reef...

For a bit there it looks like he tries to make himself look like a blue ring octopus. Maybe to be scary?

Thanks for sharing your nice vids - love those flat fish. It does look like the red algae has returned with a vengeance, especially on the "city" reefs (Capt Dons to Plaza).

Rather than post an endless stream of videos here on BonaireTalk, I'm posting this link to my YouTube account site. I've posted a few videos and will be posting more in the coming weeks. Stop by the site and see the videos.
