Hi....I know they say this is a desert island, but I am beginning to wonder. Yes, it is the rainy season, but oh my goodness!! Yesterday was practically monsoonal. Last week we had the typical rain at night and early morning and then it would clear up as the sun came up. Yesterday it was just angry all day long. I have never seen lightning in Bonaire, it was here last night. Hopefully,it will clear up today, but there are an awful lot of big clouds hanging over the town.

Diving is still a sport that doesn't mind the rain. Though I do like the way everything looks better when the sun is shining. We noticed more damage at some sites in the past couple of days. The second reef at Alice in Wonderland is not the best. There were a lot of dead spots. Also, Margate Bay had some of the most damage we have seen. One of the interesting things we are noticing is the increase of mid size juvenile fish. I can't remember seeing an 8 inch parrotfish before. There are a lot of them. Same way with Angel fish. We are starting to see more little eels. Still no big green ones. And turtles have been spotted on about every other dive.

Dinners out continue to be good. We did BBQ night at the Sunset. Very good, tons to eat and a fantastic view for $22 per person. Dinner last night was at Capriccios. We always eat outside here, but the weather forced us indoors. Glad we went in. It would have been a damp meal. Food was great. Almost feels like we moved vacation to Italy for a night.

Tonight will Bobbejans take away for the Super Bowl. I really like the commercials more than the game most years. And being a Cleveland Brown fan, it is really hard for me to cheer for the Steelers.

Off for breakfast on the balcony. Sigh, it is a great way to start any day, rain or not.

Kim - you are making me really sad that, in spite of the rain, I have to be here in Ohio with the snow rather than on the island. Glad you are having a great time. As a St. Louis native I ask you to do me a favor and root for the Cardinals.

dan, of course we're all rooting for the cardinals. browns fans have to root for any team playing the steelers (except the ravens..in which case we hope for a huge chasm to open up on the field and both teams get sucked into the depths of hell)

Go Pat,...Couldn't have said it better.
And Dan, the Cardinals did leave St.Louis. That didn't sit well with the Browns fans when our team was kidnapped.

You might wonder why I am typing instead of diving. It has poured all morning. The deck is just finally emptying from all the water. Certainly not going to be a sunny morning, but I can finally see land again. Hopefully, diving soon.

Kim: Good idea - hit the water where moisture does not matter. At the very worst it is a limited visibility dive but any dive is GOOD!

Here is the Diver's Toast I learned on Roatan many years ago:

Here's to Lying, Cheating and Stealing:
If you have to lie - lie to save a friend.
If you cheat anything or anybody - cheat death.
If you have to steal - steal more time off work to DIVE !

Keep the great reports coming!

OFF TOPIC: I'm too a Browns fan but I don't know what's worse... cocky Stillers fan gloating over 6 trophies or 1 less team without a trophy. Gleaning 1 single morsel of goodness out of it all for the Brownies was that they apparently are in the best division in the NFL with the Stillers winning and it coming down to the Ravens and Stillers for the AFC Championship. Thank goodness for the Bungholes, huh?
