My husband and I just got back from Bonaire on Friday. We were there 2-8-08 to 2-15-08. It was SIMPLY AMAZING !! We loved the island SO MUCH! We loved everything about Bonaire, the laid back attitude, the diving, the food, the atmosphere, the beautiful sunsets...We loved Everything!!

It went by entirely too fast though, one week is just not enough....

My favorite place to hang out was the City Cafe. I loved the atmosphere there, and the scenery, and the seafood platter was fabulous! As a matter of fact, I had to have that dish twice. We enjoyed Cactus blue as well.

We stayed at the divi. It was nice. We enjoyed diving the house reef (calabas). There were huge cruise ships docked there every day. One day there were 2 ships. The beach was always jam packed with people when the ships were there.

Last Sunday we went on our first boat dive, it was a 2 tank dive. After coming up from the 2nd dive, we came up and one of the divers was having some respiratory difficulty. I went over to talk to him, and try to calm him down a little, and he stopped breathing. Another nurse and I did CPR on him until we got back to the dock. The divemaster had already called ahead for an ambulance. It was later determined that he had a heart attack. He was very lucky, I think he is now doing fine. For a while there, I really didn't think he would make it.

So anyway, alls well that ends well. Needless to say, after that happened, we didn't dive anymore that day. We walked around town for a while and then had a drink or 2.

We will DEFINATELY be back to Bonaire.
I would post some pics, but i'm not sure how....
Andrea

Thankfully you could administer CPR and the guy made it. Bonaire is the best vacation we have ever had, been 4 times now and will do #5 soon. Someone will chime in and give you advice on how to post pictures.

Thanks for the report.

Andy (another Andrea)

Andrea - glad you enjoyed Bonaire and it seems that you and the other nurse were his guardian angels - as you know that often doesn't end too well. And you are MOST correct when you say one week is not enough - because it isn't. Alas that is all I am getting this year but I am grateful for that none the less.

If you click on the formatting button below you can read how to add pictures. If you are like me and don't like to read that part then you can try to follow my bad advice on how to post pics.

First make certain that you pictures are no more than 50K. Anything larger and it won't take. Ok - so now you have your picture saved. You will want to type this in with one MINOR modification

\image {my pic}

The modification you need to make is to remove the space AFTER the e in word image and before the {. See if I were to do it you would see this my pic and then you wouldn't get what I was trying to say.

Hope that works for you.

Glad you guys had a great trip!!Did you fly from Charlotte or Raleigh? Thank goodness you were there at the right time and place to assist a diver in distress. Would like to see your pictures. They will certainly help my worsening case of PBD. You're right one week's not quite enough.
