We were on Bonaire May 1 to May 15, our 5th trip to Bonaire. We stayed at Happy Holiday Homes (as usual). The people in the next unit were there last year also. They got married on Bonaire last year, so they have a nice way to celebrate their anniversary!

We 'eat in' most of the time, but had nice 'catch of the day' dinners at Amadeus and Chibi-Chibi. Ate lunch at City Cafe a couple of times and a 'first' breakfast at Cozzoli's.

We flew American all the way. Denver-Dallas-San Juan-Bonaire going down, Bonaire-San Juan-Miami-Denver on the way back. It wasn't fun getting up at 3am to get to the airport at 4am, but it was OK. It is nice getting to Denver in the middle of the afternoon so we can drive home (200 miles) if we really need or want to.

We are freedivers - so if you were on island at that time and saw some strange folks without enough hardware - that was us!

We arrived at the streetcam on May 3 at 10am (arranged with a friend in Denver). There were people there already - they had folks at all the webcams to commemorate someone's Big Five-Oh.

We dove at:
Andrea I - Bea saw a squid, actually 2!! The "beaches" at Andrea I and II have had some work done since we last visited there. Very, very nice.
The Cliff - Marvin likes the wall faces that are found there.
Jeff Davis - it look clear there when we drove up
Salt Pier (with the pink bus) - We dove there a couple of years ago with scuba gear. Was very cool to be there freediving.
1,000 Steps - Marvin dove with a turtle and even got his picture!!
Secret Beach (Jonz beach for our trip) - saw a pod of spinning dolphins.
Margate Bay - saw flamingos flying and later feeding on Pekelmeer
Tories' Reef - kind of a rough water day
Small Wall - swam down from Melody and Tom's dock - reefcam (Marvin), squid, a large ray, Marvin dove down to the cave on the Small Wall

Bea has been working with Melody on the Bonaire Animal Shelter's web site, so we spent some time at the shelter. Got some new pictures with
our digital camera. See them at Animal Shelter Bonaire. Also got our cat 'fix' with all the kitties at the "Cat House".

Good Report.
I've never free dove before, sounds like fun.

It is fun. Once last year I heard a parrot fish chewing on some coral. That was very cool.
