It's official; we leave for Bonaire on January 26th 2008. We are counting the days, and hoping Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's, will be enough distraction that we don't think about it every waking minute. It will be fantastic to realize right after the holidays that... WOW we leave in three weeks... OK my counting is a little off, but it helps me cope. This will be Gretchen's first trip to Bonaire, and she is beside herself. Dave, Leslie and I have built it up to a point where she thinks she'll be getting a preview of the promise land. And actually, she's pretty close. :-) It will actually be her first dives outside the quarry. not a bad step up...

Can't wait to get there... Hey, it's after midnight... only 79 more days. It's getting better already. :-)

:-) Trust me, those 79 days will fly by! Especially since you have a few Holidays on the way. Gretchen WILL think she's at least 3/4 of the way to Heaven once she gets there and in the water!!!

Keep counting those days and enjoy every minute when you get on island. Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Kobi

Hey Kobi, thanks for the encouragement, I know Gretchen will fall in love with Bonaire, just like everyone else does. As for trip reports, I'll leave those to brother Dave. I will be content with just adding my comments to his always eloquent recantation of our experiences.

I'm just waiting to go. Waiting... Waiting... Waiting...

Hey PegiSue,

It may be the scenic route, but the destination is still the same. Some times the anticipation of the arrival can be almost as much fun. OK, I can't back that up, but hey, I tried. :-)

John, have fun for everyone.

All we need to do now is catch some ZZZZs before waking up early to fly to B. This will be our 1st trip to Bonaire so we are excited and looking forward to all of the things we have read about. We will try to post a report soon after we get back. Not taking a laptop with us so we will be off the grid. Cool!

"recantation"

Was that on your desk calendar as your "word of the day"? And it took you until 1:33 AM to get it worked in......

B.A.S. (Bonaire Anticipation Syndrome) is beginning to set in!!

Dave.

I'm older and smarter. Geoff is bigger and better looking.

Geoff likes fast cars and fast women. I like old trucks and fast women.

Geoff uses lots of air VERY quickly. I make longer dives.....

Dave Goodwin.

OUCH! That was cold. True, but cold. And to correct any misconception, I like fast cars, and faster women. Dave can't handle things quite so fast anymore. It's an age thing, I guess. :-)

Yes I use more air; I just have so much mussel mass to oxygenate. (Another word of the day from my desk calendar.)

I would have responded to Dave's first shot yesterday, but Gretchen was here, and we were working on our buddy breathing. It's important to practice these life saving techniques on a regular basis.

Just gearing up for BON, and waiting... waiting... waiting...

77 More days!!!

Is that what they are calling it now "Buddy Breathing"?

Leslie and I refer to it as "Cleaning House".....

Dave Goodwin.
