This is a little late, but I finally got a few minutes to write.

Me, my husband and our 4 friends arrived November 18th for two weeks in paradise. We stayed in the house at Carib Inn, which was basic but perfect for what we needed, and great for diving and snorkelling.

Typically, we'd dive/snorkel twice a day from the Carib Inn dock. We rented a van and did a few shore dives at the Andreas, Windsock and the Invisibles, but we saw so much from the Carib Inn we really didn't need to go anywhere.

We also did an island tour, stopped off at the Donkey Sanctuary on the south side, and the Flamingo lake and Rincon in the north.

While diving/snorkelling at Carib Inn, we saw Parrotfish, Porcupinefish, schools of brown chromis, White and Orange Spotted Filefish, eels, angelfish, barracuda, and lots more. I even saw squid, a turtle and a spotted eagle ray while snorkelling (of course, I didn't have a camera to prove it!).

We bought groceries from Warehouse and Cultimara, both a relatively easy walk from the Carib Inn.
Cultimara was best for fruit & veg, fresh bread, beer & milk, while Warehouse had great gouda cheese, cheap wine and frozen food (pork chops, chicken and goat stew meat).

We went out for dinner a few times, all were great. We watched the sunset at Richards(don't miss the coconut ice cream in the shell), had snapper at La Guernica and another great dessert (chocolate & orange mousse), and had awesome steaks at the Casablanca. Also, picked up a pizza from Donna & Giorgio's for the flight home - it smelled and tasted so good!

Good points:
Carib Inn staff - very helpful and friendly
Shore diving & snorkelling from Carib Inn
Casablanca, Richards and La Guernica for dinner
Donna and Giorgio's pizza
Donkey Sanctuary
Flamingos

Not so good points:
Mosquitos and No-see-ums after dark
American Eagle flight delays (American Eagle gate was damp and smelly, too full of people, and our flight was delayed)
Waiting for Hertz staff to show up at Divi Flamingo office (waited on and off for over an hour past the "will return at" time

None of these were really show stoppers for us. We have some great pictures and even better memories. So good, we'll be back in November.

Dawn

Dawn,

Good report, thanks. We also stay at the Carib and always feel very well taken care of. And the diving and snorkeling off the dock is GREAT.

Nice report, but I can't stand it that everybody but me sees rays!

Anonymous, that's because you don't have an x-RAY mask. Very nice report Dawn. Thank you.

Anonymous,
Rays are on my list too :-). Saw some in Jamaica swimming along the beach but not the same type of course.

We've heard wonderful things about Renee, she knows where everything lives so we booked with her a couple times on our first trip to Bonaire (April).

Diana, we were planning to take a trip with Renee as well this year, but unfortunately, for various reasons we didn't. That means we have something to look forward to next time!
