I must add a postscript, since I think the superb follow-up to my trip comments is worthy of notice.

As a result of our comments about being disappointed with all the bottles and coral damage on Bari reef, Cynde contacted me off-line to determine exactly what we saw and where. Then she contacted a friend on Bonaire, who dove Bari following our profile (more or less). The intent was to report any new damage to the proper bonaire authorities.

I was very pleased when Cynde wrote back to tell me the bottle were old (as I reported), not new rubbish, and that the damage I saw was caused by a hurricane some years before and not recent damage from a boat etc.

I thought it just wonderful that BTalkers take the island resources and their preservation so seriously.
