Our diving has come to an abrupt ending. Last dive to do was going to be Karpatta. Kathy's tank fell off the back of the truck, tore a hose and put at the very least a nice rode rash on her brand new 1st stage. Oh well always more ocean and another time to dive. My thoughts on Bonaire is its a great little island with a great reef. Would I come back???? Maybe but there is a lot of ocean I'd still like to see. Let's face it at 56 years old(and sometimes feel older than that) I don't know how many dives I have left in me. We did see an Eagle Ray at Margay Bay,lots of fishies of many different varieties and sizes but not the big stuff you see in the Bahamas or even Cozmel. A place to retire--maybe but there is still something about a boat on Key West that sticks in my mind. Maybe a charter for divers even. Lets face it we love the water. Even in the cornfields of Illinois we spend every weekend on our boat just 15 miles from where we live. Seems funny sometimes but we find it sooooooooo relaxing. Trip ends tomorrow leaving on a jet plane (hmmmmmm theres a song there somewhere) back to the windy city and then a 2 hr drive home. Back to work monday and boss believe it or not kind of looking forward to seeing whats been going on while we where in Bonaire and what awaits our return. Its been fun,had ourselves captured on the cams more than once, and did some good dives. Take care. Signing off from Bonaire. Jay&Kathy

At 60, I find Bonaire perfect for me. My favorite thing about Bonaire is not being tied to the schedule of a dive boat. I dive when I want. I dive solo if I want. It is truly the home of dive freedom.

Sue..Please don't push Nancy furthur along then she already is..She would be number 3 in line for the presidency (I assume that's what you meant when you wrote the White House).

I agree Vince - Gridlock is great! Food for thought Jay - there was this 80 year old guy who had had a triple bypass on the Cayman Agressor with us - this guy was one of the best divers I have ever seen! He ran silent, ran deep!! I was amazed, told him he was my hero and that I wanted to be just like him when I got to be his age. My advice: take h r scarlett's advice! Its all good on Bonaire. Glad you had a good time. We are currently planning our 9th trip!! Out here.
