We leave tomorrow morning (Sat) for our first trip to Bonaire. Being from San Francisco and having a couple of small children with us, we opted to spend Sat night in San Juan instead of red eyeing and getting to BON in one shot. Our flight to BON leaves Sun evening.
We are very excited. I am shooting for my first on island report Monday afternoon!
Someone make sure the water is warm and the beer is cold for me!
Also, where is a good dive sight to see mermaids?

Todd,

The warm water and cold beer was taken care of a long time ago:-). All you have to do is enjoy.

Mermaids? Never saw one looking out toward the water, but have met several on land.:-)

Have fun!!!

Smack

Been diving here with my "mermaid" all week. Alas we leave Saturday so that will leave a hole for you and your family to fill. Safe diving and drink plenty of Brights in rememberence of all that have come before and will follow after. Jay&Kathy

Todd...The mermaids have been spotted at many of the dive sites on the island...Oh, by the way, if you're breathing air, they're usually found at about 150 feet or so. Say hello for me, but remember to keep your regulator in your mouth!

My girlfriend and I will be spending two weeks in Bonaire during Xmas/New years and are both divers. Looking for all usefull info for shore diving. I read that all new divers have to have a checkout dive, is this so? Are diving warning floats required? etc. etc.

Thanks

Gary, the check out instruction is for buoyancy and Marine park rules. All divers have to go through this on their first day of diving. No Diving floats are required. Have a good time and be safe... Ron
