Here is the raw truth of our very first trip to Bonaire: The group met in Houston, we were 5 girls, three of us experienced divers and 2 of us were completing their check out dives in Bonaire ( I think we spoiled them forever ) The Houston flight was booked solid! Landing at 5:30 in the morning the heat already in the high 80's we waited to collect our bags. We already booked our trip with sunrentals, which we HIGHLY recommend, in fact I don't think I would go back without them. When we booked our tickets we began emailing Josie, we had a million and one questions and she always responded in a timely fashion. She took care of the truck rental, house rental, air tanks delivered to our door daily!!!, and regs with weights. So we collect our bags and soon we are following Josie down a paved road leading to Crown Courts 44a. We picked this house because of the ocean reef access direct from the property, the pool and AC. The house had 3 bedrooms and keeping with our honesty; the furniture and appliances need updating. The windows and doors need to be sealed to prevent water entry during rain. Overall the experience at this location was great but the above improvements would have made it spectactular. The patio off the living room was great to hang our dive gear and the table was perfect to sit down to a candle lit dinner. Bert was our first exposure to diving in Bonaire and he was fantastic!! We hired him to take us on a couple of guided dives that turned out to be some of our best!! Our friends were certified SSI, the company they did their check out dives with was dissappointing to say the least. With all of the above said we would all highly recommend and participate in a trip to Bonaire in the future.

Of course I have to add that the diving was just...undoubtly the best diving I have ever done! The water temperature was lowest 85 highest 87 and I think 85 was at 100 feet! The entire island just had a way of relaxing all of us. We were running around with giddy smiles on our faces just happy to be in good company and in such a beautiful place. As far as the food was concerned, well Pizza from pasa don pasta? whatever the name was, it's been posted here and it's the only stop light on the island. hee hee of course it was delicious, so good we ordered enough the night before to wrap some up and take it to the airport for breakfast in the morning. We did a lot of our own cooking which was fun, we liked the casual atmosphere of our house but as far as money is concerned I think you spend just as much if not just a little less by cooking for yourself rather than going out to eat. Again can't say enough about that amazing place we were at, except of course that we will be back!

Angela - so glad that you had a great time and are ready to go back to Bonaire. It is a rather amazing place full of good people, great diving and wonderful food. What more can you ask for.

I don't know what PBD is exactly, but if you mean are we suffering now because we have found a piece of paradise and we must go back then yes, we are all suffering from it. I was thinking of planning a trip for May...
