I am a single guy (45) arriving on the island for two weeks windsurfing from Dec. 24th to January 7th. Can someone tell me about the wind conditions and what to expect windsurfing at Lac Bay. Things to do for a single guy on the island over the holidays? I plan on diving a couple days to and am an open water diver. What would be some can't miss spots?

Hi John, the wind in Bonaire is fairly constant year-round. Take a look at http://www.bonairewindsurfplace.com/windchart.html for some historical data. My wife & I will be at Sorobon over Christmas, so I guess we'll be able to see how you get on!

Hi John,

I have been on BON for 6 Christmas's and I always sail...usually my 4.7 or 5.2. There is lots to do...You will meet lots of other sailors as well...have fun..don't miss the great lunches at Hang Out Bar, the super BBQ at The Place, City and Karel's for music..(mind you it starts late ends in the wee hours..I hear music still playing in town at 5 AM today!

Hey John, welcome to BT. I'll also be on Bon at that time. And even tho I'm not a windsurfer, I'll be out there watching Ann on occasion at Lac.....come over to say hi. I snorkel and can be seen pretty much everywhere on the island. Come meet me at Pasa Bon Pizza's bar some night..owners are friends of mine and it's a quieter place to come have a drink one night....besides yummy pizza!

Hey John,
Another Welcome to BT!!! We will also be on Bon over the Christmas/New Year Holidays... Bonaire has a great New Year fireworks show!
We are scuba divers and would not mind sharing a dive or two.
We are looking forward to meeting Mercy on our next trip and will now add your name to our list! Mercy is right about Pasa Bon Pizza...it's a great place to meet for drinks and food.
Yana
