Our adventures continue... When we (there were 18 of us) got to Belmar (http://www.belmar-bonaire.com/ ) where we were to stay we were immediately told that the couple who lost their gear would be outfitted by the dive shop there so they did not have to miss any diving. We were also told the bad news that our room was still occupied and that we would have to stay in the Penthouse for the night. It was absolutely heaven! The only rooms closed in were the bedrooms and baths. What a tropical delight sitting at your kitchen table and watching the flamingos fly by while hearing the waves hitting the bulkhead. Sitting in the L/R and watching a beautiful yellow finch drop by for a sprig of moss from your planter to build her nest in the weeping fig of the house next door. Just Awesome to look over the railing out to sea and have 1000 hovering dragonflies catch your eye. Each day they would come and I can only assume that they were keeping the mosquitoes at bay but it was an awesome sight. Even when we moved down to where the common folks lived our apt was wonderful! Clean, comfortable and paradise! The folks that ran the place were great too! They had security. Each evening the guard who watched the place would greet us. Wish I could remember his name but it will have to be enough to say that he was always pleasant and helpful and added to our experience.
