The last time we saw our friends it was the end of one helluva BBQ at Karpata. On Sunday, John and Joe had to leave early...the day began gloriously...sunny and warm, with blue sky and bluer water. Sheryl and I went to visit a colleague of mine's parents, who happen to live on the island (small world), past the Petroleum tanks near the fishing village on the west side of the island. Don and Barbera took us on a wonderful hike up the hill. The hike was refreshing and the view at the top was fantastic.

Here's a view looking southeast toward town

On Monday, I dove "Hands Off" in the morning and "Forest" in the afternoon....that was it for my diving as our trip was fast coming to an end....man do I miss the water :-( Tuesday was pretty much cleaning up accounts and such....we stopped to say goodbye to Gibi....

10

It's really amazing how slow time goes waiting for a holiday and how fast it goes while on one....in the blink of an eye, our trip was done, but Bonaire gave us one last magical scene before we flew out the next morning....what a sunset!!!

11

That was it:-(:-(:-( After a harrowing 22 hours in planes and airports, we were back.....at least our cabin was still as it should be in the mountains

All I can do until next time, is sit on our cabin porch, sip a cool one and dream of our next trip.

Thank you all for allowing me to share our wonderful trip with you....our next trip is already in the works, and look for a "Thonga Line" next February :-)

Cam,
Wonderful report. Brought many a chuckle to my daily grind. AND, being the mountain woman that I am, I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and mountain photos.

Oh, and by the way, only 14 more days for me!!! Unfortunately though, we can only make ONE trip each year but we do stay 15 nights! :-) Yahoooooo....I'm definitely in vacation mode.

Oh, Cynde....are your bags packed and waiting by the door yet? :-)

Cam,

I have been so busy that I have not read any posts over the past couple of week. I just caught up on the thong report threads!!

What a great report and thanks so much for keeping us all entertained!!

I can't agree with you more about Gibi - he is the most wonderful guy and a great cook!! Michael Gaynor of Chat and Browse is also a great guy that is always willing to help out anyone at anytime.

I think you have found some of the many people and places that Bonaire such a special island.

Oh - and my twin sis Liz and her hubby Ed are also wonderful!!!

Cameron -

Thank you for taking the time to make a trip report and especially for the fine photos.

There is more than one kind of heaven and I want you to know that your pictures of your cabin and the surrounding area are magical. They remind us of the two wonderful trips we have had to the Canadian Rockies - spectacular country and most cordial people. For a mountain vacation, Wild Rose Country is our number one choice, our "Bonaire of the North."

Thanks Charles

While I pine for our sun-drenched paradise, I cannot forget the beauty which we have right under our noses. I extend an invitation to anyone who would venture up our way to contact us....we have the two best fly fishing rivers in the world (the Bow and the Crowsnest rivers), as well as the Calgary Stampede, Banff and just everyday plain good times. If anyone is coming through Calgary, please feel free to contact me to make sure your trip is a great one. I still miss Bonaire :-(

Hey, Cam...thanks for one (well, more than one) heck of a report and dialogue and terrific photos, etc. So refreshing and insightful and darn hilarious, too!

Your place in the mountains is truly gorgeous....your own little piece of heaven right here on earth...now you have experienced both ends of the "heaven's worlds".....Mountains and the Sea. It doesn't get any better than that. I will miss your installments and your great sense of humor. Great stuff, for sure! Carole
