This was my second trip to Bonaire. Last time I stayed at Buddy, this time I tried to save money and I did. We stayed at the Bon Village Villas. It consisted of a number of recently built duplexes with all the comforts of home. Now it wasn't the Plaza by no means but it was clean and spacious. It consisted of two large A/C bedrooms two full baths, living room, full kitchen with cooking utensils, gas stove and microwave. We had a back porch with clothes lines to hang the dive gear and a hose to wash them down. The front porch was large with a table, chairs and had a security gate and heavy lock. All floors were ceramic tile and the furniture was new and confortable. The living room had color TV on cable.

It is not on the water but about one mile straight in from the Divi Flamingo casino parking lot. The cost was 99 per day for two people and that included all taxes (except for departure tax)towels, soap and a Toyota HiLux truck for a week. Anton and Mark the owners were very gracious and even picked us up and dropped us at the airport. We had our own yard and barbecue grill and driveway to pull our vehicle inside the gate at night. It was a very quiet neighborhood and the only thing we ever heard was a donkey hee haw one night.

They also arranged unlimited air for us at the Divi for 90/week.

We fixed breakfast and most lunches in and ate out at night. With air fare, drinks the villas, air fills and groceries we spent less than 1500 each for the week. Our air from Louisville ran 749 each.

A very good deal for two guys that wanted to get max bottom time.

Email me for more details or some digital pictures of the villas or check them out at http://www.islandrentalsbonaire.com/villas.htm

I stayed at the DIVI in August. My Airfare was around 500 from Houston. Divi cost around 750.00 without boat dives. We had daily breakfast, a week of airfills, and 50.00 credit for drinks or food. A truck for the week was about 150.00 each.

Total: 1400.00

He did say "$150 each': for two that is about normal.

Jason:

I had only stayed at Buddy before and it was 1100 or so. Is the Divi always that price? January is high season. Also, I can't get that cheap of airfare out of a smaller city further away. I am headed to Aruba in two weeks and since it is spring break we had to give 950 each.
