My October visit to Bonaire started with uneventful flights on Air Jamaica, on time and nothing lost. That's a good thing. Sue and Geoffroy were on the same flights and Darlene was waiting at the airport when we landed. After a LONG wait for their rental car they dropped Darlene and I off at the Dive Inn. No time for a check dive, so we quickly jumped in and enjoyed a long snorkel up around the Divi and back. And from then on the week with Darlene was a whirlwind :-)

Let’s see …. To say it all "briefly":

Visits to the bar cam wearing our purple hats, visit to the cam wearing tiaras,

Gibi’s with the tiaras, crown, and flamingo hats and lots of great outgoing people

Dinner at Bubba Jeans (spelling?), at Chez Lucille's with Lisa and Sue, at It Rains Fishes, on the boat with Dee and Ulf, dessert at Donna and Georgio’s, pizza at Lisa’s. With all these great dinners how did I lose 2 ½ pounds? Must have been all the diving and walking!

I dive, Darlene snorkels - so we often went separate ways...

Diving boat dives from the Divi, shore dives with Smack and Tom, a shore dive at Captain Don’s dock with Sue, Geoffroy, Tom and Smack, and Darlene snorkeling.

And, snorkeling with Darlene around the Dive Inn and Divi areas, awesome night snorkel with Dee from Karl’s bar, under Town Pier, and to the Dive Inn, and a snorkel with the younger boys from Maria Hoppner Foundation and a number of BTers and dinner at KFC afterwards.

Special time sitting talking with Luty at the Divi.

The week went by too fast, but after all was done, I was ready to be home with my husband and son, and of course the dog and 3 cats. Then unfortunately back to work and PBD.

It’s difficult to say what was the best. But having said that …. I had a wonderful time, no matter what we were doing, with everybody.

More detailed highlight reports with pictures to follow !

Oh yes, my personal best … on a dive, I found a juvenile trunk fish on my own – small, maybe bumble bee sized, black ball with yellow spots AND on the night snorkel with Dee, found an orange frog fish on my own on a piling under Town Pier ! ! ! ! ! !
