Part 3 From San Diego we went to the Sedona. On our way we camped at the river banks of the Colorado river and had a wonderful time there. In Sedona we camped at a creek and went to the “slide rocks” http://www.americansouthwest.net/arizona/sedona/slide_rocks.html Sedona is a picturesque city is surrounded by red-rocks. All houses have the same reddish colour as the rocks, even Mc Donalds! http://www.visitsedona.com/ From there to the Grand Canyon. http://www.grand.canyon.national-park.com/ It’s hard to describe the Grand Canyon. It’s beyond words. Making pictures does not do it justice either. We went early and walked the rims. The weather was good. At around 15:00 we had a hail storm. Lucky we were not at the rim anymore. The Grand Canyon turned completely white in a matter of minutes. Employees we working with snowpushes to clear the doors of the hotels. The streets were flooded with mud streams. But within 15 minutes big machines were on the roads to clean them. Our journey continued to Las Vegas. On our way we stopped at the Hoover Dam. The police searched our RV thoroughly before we were allowed to cross the dam. http://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/ On the Strip we camped at Circus Circus. Las Vegas also surpassed our expectations. Having young kids with us, we could not enter the casino’s. But walking the strip, seeing some shows outside, all the lights and the incredible hotels was awesome.
