Thanks for the pictures Craig! I have never been to Bonaire (yet) so it's great to have a visual of some of the places everyone chats about.

Thanks for capturing the moments and sharing them.
Casablanca IS the resturant I was talking about in a previous thread.

It is a great steak house with a really great grill. Arrive hungry as the portions are large. Service is good and they are very friendly.

Make reservations !!!

Seems Casablanca is a very popular place (for good reason).

Ask your server about what's in the "mixed grill".......

Is making a reservation typical procedures for most dining areas in Bonaire or just a few select places?

Reservations.....

We found that if you didn't care when you ate (or at least when you were seated) then reservations at the popular places (Casablanca, Donna & Giorgio's, and Passa Bon Pizza on our "eating out" list) were not essential...but be prepared to wait a while.

Seems to me that the "rush" for dinner starts later on Bonaire than at home....by 6:30 everything was getting busy, by 7:30 you could face an hour's wait. Part of the reason for the crunch time seems to be (a) small venues compared to home, (b)"island time, Maan" going out for a meal meant a minimum investment of 2 hours for a sit down dinner, once you were seated.

Reservations would be my recommendation, but they'll only be held 10-15 min....if you are going to make a dinner reservation, plan your schedule to be there in time to ensure you don't loose it !!

Ciao,
Craig

Our daily dinner plans started at Karel's at 5:00 for happy hour. After watching the sun set, we just headed over to the restaurant of our choice. We never had a wait but Friday and Saturday nights were busier than usual. We were at Richards on a Saturday night right after sunset and there were only two people there. The outdoor seating at Capriccio was full on Friday night so we had to sit inside.
