I'm afraid these are just snatched from my video footage, as Marcia has all her pics under her pillow so I can't get at 'em without waking her!
I'll try & get her permission to post a few tomorrow.

s.crab & worm b.star

shoal octo

s.eel m.u.s.p

storm b'cuda s.p

Can't resist including one of myself...well we all like to see snaps of ourselves, if we're honest about it, dont we?

Great shots! Help a novice out here, would you? What is the "branchy" orange thing above? On my computer, it is the second picture. Thanks!

It's a basket star Hazel. Same family as the starfish & sea cucumber. They're all echinoderms, invariably (I think)being made up of 5 radial segments (I know, it's not all that obvious at first glance with sea cucumbers).
Basket stars curl themselves up tightly, looking a little like birds nests during the day. Then unfurl themselves to go hunting after dark, when they measure two foot or more across. Here's a pic I've found of one on the prowl at night.
b.star night
I'm not so hot on crabs Denise but I think you're right.
Where's Jake when you need him?
I'm using a Panasonic NV-DX 100 video camera housed in an English made Sea Pro housing with some electronically controlled switches which Dave helped me cobble together. The lights & battery pack are stolen from an old Ikelite housing which I used previously.

Wow, Andy! Gorgeous shots...the sea creatures, that is!! I fear Marcia is keeping the pics tucked under her pillow to keep your paws off them, is this correct?? Joe thought she was using them to prop up her head...don't think so! Do tell....thanks for the postings, truly beautiful shots....keep 'em coming, but don't wake up Marcia if she's going to smack you in the head or something nasty like that! Carole (shutterbug)

Thanks, Andy - I'm always willing to learn more about sea creatures. The "prowling at night" pic is fabulous! I'll share the info with my students today.
