My family just visited Bonaire for one week. My parents have been there a few times and my mom always raves about Marina and the Donkey Sanctuary. I am a veterinarian in Vermont and was very excited to see the sanctuary and meet the donkeys and Marina.

I was VERY impressed with the health of the donkeys we saw at the sanctuary. The jennies and foals were all very happy and we got to meet some of the colts and fillies in person.

It is so nice to see this on Bonaire and very positively impressed us with the care these animals on the island receive. We will definitely be planning on adopting a donkey and visiting again.

Tammy, thanks for visiting the sanctuary. Isn't Marina wonderful? She loves each donkey as if it's her own child. And the place is clean, and those donkey's are loved for sure. We adopted a donkey a few years ago. You get a certificate of adoption and everything, it's a great way to help support the sanctuary annually. You can adopt a donkey online by going to www.supportbonaire.org, and donating to the sanctuary, and put in the note box you would like to adopt a donkey.

We do plan on adopting a donkey - I have some GREAT pictures of the babies too. What a great thing for the island.
